When a lotus flower is born from a lotus pod, is the sound of the north unpleasant? It naturally appeared like the pleasure garden of the Thirty-Three (Trayastriṃśat) heavens called "Very Joyful." At that time, all the Sala tree groves were adorned with various forms and became very pleasing to the eye. At that time, all the gods, humans, asuras, and others, realizing that this was a sign of the Tathagata's complete passing into nirvana, were all distressed by sorrow and became unhappy. At that time, the kings of the Four Great Kings and Indra, the lord of the gods, said to each other, 'O noble ones, look at the gods, humans, asuras, and others in the world preparing offerings and making offerings to the Tathagata. We should also make offerings in the same way. If we make offerings at the very end, then the perfection of generosity will surely be complete.' Then, the gods of the Four Great King's realms prepared offerings that were even more excellent than the previous ones, such as: Mandarava flowers, great Mandarava flowers, Kacilika flowers, great Kacilika flowers, Manjusha flowers, great Manjusha flowers, Santanika flowers, great Santanika flowers, Delightful flowers, great Delightful flowers, Samantabhadra flowers, great Samantabhadra flowers, Seasonal flowers, great Seasonal flowers, Fragrant City flowers, great Fragrant City flowers, Very Joyful flowers, great Very Joyful flowers, Desire-filled flowers, great Desire-filled flowers, Fragrance-intoxicated flowers, great Fragrance-intoxicated flowers, All-fragrant flowers, great All-fragrant flowers, the golden petals of the gods, flowers called Naga, flowers of the Parijata tree, flowers of the Kovidaara tree, and also various kinds of delicious and flavorful foods. They arrived where the Buddha was, bowed their heads at the feet of the Bhagavan, and the light of the gods even surpassed the light of the sun and moon. They arranged those offering items to make offerings to the Tathagata, and the Tathagata, the knower of time, accepted them without saying a word.

It was not allowed. At that time, the gods also did not get their wish, and their minds were troubled by sorrow, so they gathered in one place. At that time, Indra, the lord of the gods, and the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens, prepared offerings that were even more excellent than before, and the flowers they held were the same as before. The fragrance was very strong and pleasant, and they arranged offerings called "Transformable Immeasurable Palaces" and "Small Immeasurable Palaces." They came to where the Buddha was, prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One with their heads, and said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, we have great faith and devotion to the Mahayana, and for the sake of the Tathagata's compassion for us, please accept these offerings." The Blessed One, the Knower of Time, did not speak and did not allow acceptance. The Great Nirvana Sutra of the Noble One, Volume Two. Then, Indra and the assembly of gods did not get their wish, and their minds were troubled by sorrow, so they gathered in one place. Between the six levels of the desire realm, the offerings displayed were jeweled banners, streamers, and umbrellas, each one more exquisite than the other. Even the smallest of the jeweled umbrellas could cover the four continents. Even the shortest of the streamers could encircle the four oceans. Even the lowest of the banners could touch the Paranirmita-vasavartin Heaven, and when moved by the wind, it would emit a pleasant sound. They arranged various excellent foods and came to where the Blessed One was, prostrated at the feet of the Blessed One with their heads, and said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, for the sake of your compassion for us, please accept this last of the offerings." The Tathagata, the Knower of Time, did not speak and did not allow acceptance. Then, the gods also did not get their wish, and their minds were troubled by sorrow, so they gathered in one place. Among them, except for one, which is the Peak of Existence, the gods of the Brahma realm also gathered. At that time, the light of the Brahma King and the gods of the Brahma realm illuminated the entire four continents, and in the desire realm, gods and humans.

The light of the sun and moon also disappeared. Each of them held aloft jeweled victory banners, flags, and umbrellas. Even the shortest of the flags extended from the realm of Brahma to the grove of Sala trees, arriving where the Buddha was. They bowed their heads at the feet of the Bhagavan and said to the Bhagavan, "Bhagavan, out of compassion for us, please accept this humble offering from among our offerings." The Tathagata, knowing the time, did not speak and did not grant acceptance. The Brahma gods, not having their wishes fulfilled, were saddened and gathered in one place. At that time, the Asura King Rahula (Thags bzangs ris) also arrived with countless Asura retinues. The light of their bodies even surpassed that of the Brahma gods. They held aloft jeweled victory banners, flags, and umbrellas. Even the smallest of the umbrellas could cover a small thousand worlds, and they brought excellent and supreme food, arriving where the Buddha was. They bowed their heads at the feet of the Bhagavan and said to the
