If one goes into the crow and the peacock of the kalaviṅka bird, the sound of the kalaviṅka bird will not be heard. If one goes into the kalaviṅka bird, then the sound of the kalaviṅka bird will be heard. Mañjuśrī, similarly, if a Bodhisattva goes into the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, the sound of the Buddha's inconceivable Dharma will not be heard. If one goes into the Bodhisattva, then the sound of the Buddha's inconceivable Dharma will be heard. Mañjuśrī, it is like this: For example, the scattered wind cannot be endured by the trees, houses, palaces, or places of Jambudvīpa. Mañjuśrī, similarly, when the Bodhisattvas fully proclaim the inconceivable Dharma of the Buddha, the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas who have not been blessed by the Buddha's blessings cannot believe or have faith. Those who have been blessed by the Buddha believe and have faith. Mañjuśrī, it is like this: For example, the light of the sun shines on both clean and unclean things, but it does not become attached to clean things, nor does it become angry with unclean things. The orb of the sun is not to be spoken of anywhere. Mañjuśrī, similarly, the rays of wisdom of the Bodhisattva also shine on the Śrāvakas and ordinary beings, but they do not become attached to the Śrāvakas, nor do they become angry with ordinary beings. The Bodhisattva is not to be spoken of anywhere. Mañjuśrī, it is like this: For example, when the leaves of the Pārijāta tree sprout from the earth, the gods of the Thirty-three (त्रयस्त्रिंश,trayastriṃśa) become delighted, thinking that before long this Pārijāta tree will be endowed with flowers and fruits. Mañjuśrī, similarly, when a Bodhisattva completely gives away all possessions, the Buddhas, the Bhagavantas, will praise him, saying that before long this Bodhisattva will bestow the flowers and fruits of the Buddha's Dharma upon all sentient beings.

Those Bodhisattvas who revere all sentient beings, universally revere, and exceedingly revere, have no fear of falling into the grounds of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas. Manjushri, it is like water flowing to where it is low. Manjushri, similarly, a Bodhisattva without arrogance goes to where omniscience is. Manjushri, it is like when the great ocean first forms, it first settles in the lowest place among all the great lands. Then, all the streams of rivers effortlessly flow manifestly there. Manjushri, similarly, for a Bodhisattva without arrogance, all the Buddha's teachings effortlessly become manifest in their entirety. Manjushri, it is like a vajra jewel piercing all jewels, but that vajra jewel is not pierced by them. Manjushri, similarly, a Bodhisattva tames Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, but does not fall into their taming. Manjushri, it is like when a Mandarava flower is moved by the wind, its fragrance pervades a hundred yojanas all around. Manjushri, similarly, when a Bodhisattva is moved by noble wisdom, he pervades all sentient beings with the fragrance of great love and great compassion. Manjushri, it is like those who smell the fragrance of the Mandarava flower are not afflicted by all diseases. Manjushri, similarly, those who smell the fragrance of the great love and great compassion of a Bodhisattva will not be overcome by all the diseases of afflictions. Manjushri, it is like if a Buddha does not appear, the Udumbara flower will not appear. Manjushri, similarly, if the mind is not generated towards enlightenment, the flowers of the Buddha's teachings will not appear either. Manjushri, it is like when the Naga king Anavatapta rains, the rain falls pervading the entire Jambudvipa. Manjushri, similarly, when a Bodhisattva rains the rain of the sacred Dharma, it falls equally on the minds of all sentient beings.

For example, like this, just as four rivers flow from the great Anavatapta lake, completely filling the four great oceans. Manjushri, similarly, bodhisattvas also cause the four objects of gathering to flow, thereby perfecting the great ocean of wisdom. Manjushri, for example, like this, if there were no great ocean, the people of Jambudvipa would not be able to enjoy precious jewels. Manjushri, similarly, if buddhas did not appear, all the shravakas and pratyekabuddhas would not be able to enjoy the precious dharma of liberation. Manjushri, for example, like this, whatever form it may be, all of them are sustained by the four great elements. Manjushri, similarly, whatever dharma of a bodhisattva it may be, all of them are sustained by the four blessings. Manjushri, for example, like this, a medicinal tree growing on a dangerous precipice cannot nourish many beings. Manjushri, similarly, those shravakas who dwell in the terrifying precipice of samsara cannot nourish many beings. Manjushri, for example, like this, a medicinal tree growing in a city can nourish many beings. Manjushri, similarly, a bodhisattva who has entered into great love and great compassion, with the mind of generating omniscience, can nourish all sentient beings. Manjushri, for example, like this, springs that appear in summer do not last long. Manjushri, similarly, the dharma taught by the shravakas does not last long. Manjushri, for example, like this, springs that appear in spring last long. Manjushri, similarly, the dharma taught by the bodhisattvas lasts long. Manjushri, for example, like this, whatever trees are cut down from the king of mountains, the snow mountain, they quickly grow again. Manjushri, similarly, even when the Tathagata has accomplished his deeds and completely passed into nirvana, the lineage of the Three Jewels will not be cut off. Then, the venerable
