Then, the Thus-Gone One spoke to me thus: "Ananda, go and tell these circumstances to Manjushri, who has become a youth, and he will cause the Sangha of monks to flourish." Having heard the Blessed One's words, I went to the dwelling of Manjushri, who had become a youth. At that time, I saw Manjushri, who had become a youth, teaching the Dharma to Indra, Brahma, and the protectors of the world in his own dwelling. Manjushri, who had become a youth, also saw me coming into the dwelling. Having seen me, he said this: "Venerable Ananda, why have you come here in the wind and rain?" I told Manjushri, who had become a youth, those circumstances. He said to me, "Ananda, go and spread out a seat, and when the time for rain comes, strike the ghanta." Having said this, I came out of the dwelling of Manjushri, who had become a youth, and went to the monastery of the Sangha, spread out a seat, and wondered whether Manjushri, who had become a youth, had come out of the dwelling. I looked at the dwelling of Manjushri, who had become a youth, and sat down in one direction. Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, entered into the samadhi called "The Complete Destruction of the Body," and then emanated another emanation, teaching the Dharma to Indra, Brahma, and the protectors of the world. When he came out of the dwelling and went to the great city of Shravasti for alms, I did not see him. Then, the evil Mara thought to himself: "If Manjushri, who has become a youth, roars the lion's roar and goes to the great city of Shravasti for alms, I will not allow myself to see him with my own eyes." Having thought this, he immediately blessed all the Brahmins, householders, villagers, and inhabitants of the great city of Shravasti so that they would not see Manjushri, who had become a youth, no one would come to greet him, and no one would offer alms. Then, wherever Manjushri, who had become a youth, went, all the doors appeared to be closed, and no one came to greet him. Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, thought: "Alas! Brahmins"

Moreover, these patrons thought that I could neither see nor speak, and that I was blessed by demons. Therefore, at that time, with the truth and true words, and the accumulation of merit and wisdom, the accumulation of merit born from a single pore on my body, with the truth and true words that the evil demons in the worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges do not possess, may these blessings of the demons disappear! May the evil demons themselves transform into the form of patrons, and beg for alms from Manjushri Kumara in the streets, at the crossroads, and at the four-way intersections! Beg! Beg! Giving alms to him will bring great rewards. If someone were to make offerings, respect, and serve all the beings belonging to the three thousand great thousand worlds for hundreds of thousands of years with all the means of comfort, compared to that, if someone were to give alms to Manjushri Kumara as much as the tip of a fingernail, the accumulation of merit would be much greater.

Those eight hundred and those twenty thousand Bodhisattvas, the bowl was blessed to hold as much food as would suffice for them. Then, Manjushri Kumara went to the great city of Shravasti for alms, and coming out of the city of Shravasti, he left the road and placed the bowl on the ground, saying to the evil Mara: "Evil one, take this bowl and go forward!" Then, when the evil Mara tried to lift the bowl from the ground, he could not lift it. Then he said to Manjushri Kumara: "Manjushri, I cannot lift this bowl from the ground." He said: "Evil one, if you have great miraculous power, then lift this bowl from the ground with the power of miracles!" Then, although the evil Mara showed all the miracles of his miraculous power, the bowl could not be lifted even by the amount of a hair's tip. Then, he was amazed and said to Manjushri Kumara: "Manjushri, if I wanted, I could take a mountain and a bow and arrow in the palm of my hand and throw them into the sky, but I cannot lift this small bowl from here, why is that?" Manjushri said: "The power of all the great beings and great persons has been put into this bowl, therefore you cannot lift it." Then, Manjushri Kumara himself took the bowl from the ground and gave it to the evil Mara, saying: "Evil one, take this bowl and go forward!" Then, the evil Mara, like a student, took the bowl and went before Manjushri Kumara. Then, the son of the gods, the lord of power, surrounded by twenty thousand sons of the gods, came to where Manjushri Kumara was, and bowed his head at the two feet of Manjushri Kumara, and said to the evil Mara: "Evil one, like a servant, serve Manjushri Kum
