If one seeks completely, one can fully understand all of the three realms. They constantly grow like trees. Possessing various miraculous powers, they enter the four dhyanas. Those who rejoice upon hearing of emptiness and emit thousands of rays of light are also called great trees. Explaining the Dharma in this way for Kashyapa is like clouds equally pouring down rain. Countless human flowers thus grow like many medicines. Personally and thoroughly expounding the Dharma they have realized, timely revealing Buddhahood and Bodhi. He is the guide of all the worlds and the one most skilled in my means. Thus, I have truthfully declared the ultimate truth, and all the Shravakas will not pass into Nirvana. They will diligently practice the Bodhi conduct, and all these Shravakas will become Buddhas. Kashyapa, furthermore, the Tathagata is the same in taming sentient beings, there is no difference. Kashyapa, for example, the light of the sun and moon illuminates the entire world, equally shining upon all who do good and who do evil, who dwell above and below, who are fragrant and who are foul-smelling, without inequality. Kashyapa, similarly, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Samyaksambuddhas, with the light of their omniscient wisdom mind, for all sentient beings born in the five realms, according to their inclinations, expound the Dharma for the Mahayana practitioners, the Pratyekabuddha practitioners, and the Shravaka practitioners, which is equally entered, and the Tathagata's wisdom neither arises nor diminishes. In this way, merit and wisdom will be perfectly accumulated. Fifth Chapter. Kashyapa, the vehicle is not three, but because the conduct of sentient beings is different, therefore three vehicles are established. After speaking thus, the venerable Mahakashyapa said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, if there are actually not three vehicles, then why in this present age are the names of Shravaka, Pratyekabuddha, and Bodhisattva established?" After speaking thus, the Bhagavan said to the venerable Mahakashyapa thus:

Thus it was declared. O Mahākāśyapa, for example, a potter makes vessels from the same clay. Some of them become containers for molasses, some for ghee, some for yogurt and milk, and some become containers for filth and impurity. Although there is no difference in the clay, the vessels appear different merely because of the substances they contain. O Kāśyapa, likewise, there is only one vehicle, namely the Tathāgata vehicle. There are not two or three vehicles. Having declared this, the venerable Mahākāśyapa said to the Blessed One: O Blessed One, if the inclinations of sentient beings are different, is the nirvāṇa of those arising from the three realms one, or two, or three? The Blessed One said: O Kāśyapa, because of understanding all dharmas as equality, nirvāṇa is one, not two, and not three. O Kāśyapa, some wise people understand the meaning of what is explained by examples. Therefore, I will show you an example. O Kāśyapa, for example, a blind man says: "There are no forms of good color and bad color, nor is there seeing of forms of good color and bad color. There is no sun and moon, no stars, and no seeing of constellations." Then other people say to the blind man: "There are good colors and bad colors, and there is seeing of forms of good color and bad color. Likewise, there are the sun and moon and stars, and there are constellations, and there is seeing of constellations." The blind man does not believe those people and does not accept what they say. Then a doctor who knows all diseases sees the blind man and thinks: "This person has become ill due to previous sinful actions. All that has become slightly diseased has completely subsided, whether caused by wind, caused by bile, caused by phlegm, or caused by a combination." Then the doctor repeatedly considers methods to pacify his illness, thinking: "The medicines that are here cannot cure that illness, but only the king of the snowy mountains has various kinds of medicine."
