There is quiescence. What are the four? They are as follows: First, it is called the place that possesses all colors and tastes. Second, it is called that which completely liberates from all diseases. Third, it is called that which liberates from all poisons. Fourth, it is called that which bestows happiness wherever one dwells. These four, I think, exist. Then, the doctor developed compassion for the blind man and thought about how he could go to the king of the snowy mountains. So he went, sometimes climbing up, sometimes descending, and sometimes searching on the surface. After searching in this way, he found four kinds of medicine. Having found them, some he gave fresh, some he applied, some he mixed with other medicines and cooked before giving, some he mixed with wet medicines and gave. Some he pierced through the lower part of the body and injected, some he burned with fire and gave, some he mixed with other medicines and mixed with food and drink and so on before giving. Then, the blind man gained his sight by using these methods. Having gained his sight, he saw everything outside and inside, far and near, the light of the moon and sun, the stars and the shapes of the planets. Then he said, "Alas, poor me, I didn't believe even when told before, nor did I accept it as it was said. Now I have seen everything and am liberated from blindness, I have gained my sight. There is no one more special and excellent than me." At that time, there were sages who possessed five kinds of clairvoyance, possessing the divine eye, the divine ear, the ability to know the minds of others, the knowledge of remembering past lives, and being skilled in manifesting miracles. They said to that man, "Hey, you have only gained your sight. You don't know anything else, so where does your arrogance come from? You have no wisdom, nor are you wise." They also said to him, "Hey, when you are inside the house, you cannot see or know other external forms. You also do not know which beings you cherish with love and which beings you cherish with harm. You cannot hear or know the sounds of speech, drums, conches, and so on that are five yojanas away. You cannot go a krosha away without taking a step."

Furthermore, they cannot. If they do not even remember the actions of being born and growing in their mother's womb, how can they be wise? How can they claim to see everything? Alas, person, you perceive light as darkness, and darkness as light. After saying this, that person said to those hermits: By what means and by doing what virtuous deeds can one attain such wisdom? May your rewards obtain those qualities! Then those hermits said to that person: If you wish, dwell in a secluded monastery. Or sit in a rock cave and contemplate the Dharma, and you should abandon your afflictions. Likewise, if you possess the qualities of practice, you will attain excellent clairvoyance. Then that person took those words to heart, became ordained, and dwelt in a monastery. With single-pointed mind, he abandoned worldly desires and attained the five superknowledges. Having attained the five superknowledges, he thought: In the past, I performed other actions, but I did not gain any merit. Now I will go wherever I wish. In the past, I had little wisdom and little understanding; I have become blind. O Light Protector, in order to understand that meaning, this example was given, and its meaning should be understood in this way. O Light Protector, the term 'blind' is a figurative expression for those sentient beings who dwell in the cycle of the five destinies. Those who do not know the sacred Dharma and generate the darkness of afflictions are blinded by ignorance. Being blinded by ignorance, actions, and so on. Due to the condition of actions, from name and form onwards, likewise, there will arise up to that great mass of suffering. Thus, being blinded by ignorance, the Thus-Gone One generates compassion for those sentient beings who dwell in samsara. Although he has transcended the three realms, like a loving father to his only child, he generates great compassion and goes to the three realms. Sentient beings wander in the wheel of samsara, and although they have afflictions, they do not know how to truly escape from samsara. Therefore, the Thus-Gone One sees them with the eye of wisdom. Having seen them, he thinks that these sentient beings have done good deeds in the past, and their hatred is small and...
