From the peaks of the mountains also came the sweet sound of cymbals with five instruments. May all sentient beings attain a mind free from attachment. When the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara prostrated with his five limbs at the feet of the Tathāgata Ratnagarbha, then, as before, the land of as many Buddha-fields as grains of sand in the Ganges River also shook violently. Those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also prophesied. From the stones of all the mountains and the tops of the trees also came the sweet sound of cymbals with five instruments. All sentient beings also abided in a mind free from attachment. The Bhagavat spoke, "O compassionate one, rejoice in the merits. Those who possess the supreme body in the ten directions have prophesied, and the land, together with the fields, has shaken in six ways. The Victorious One, the chief person, will become a great sage." Then, the chief of the king's advisors, the Brahmin Ocean Dust, said to the second prince, named Mandala, "Son of good family, you too should rejoice in this great giving. Whatever virtue you have accumulated, dedicate it to omniscience for the sake of all sentient beings, and generate the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment." Then, the young prince Mandala sat before the Bhagavat and said this: "Bhagavat, whatever I have offered with all necessities to the Bhagavat and the immeasurable community of monks, and whatever accumulation of merit has arisen from rejoicing, and whatever accumulation of merit has been well practiced by body, speech, and mind, all of these I dedicate to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. I will not attain enlightenment merely in this impure Buddha-field, but in the world called 'Youthful Avalokiteśvara, Perfectly Accumulated All Jewels,' I will attain enlightenment under the precious Bodhi tree.

Having approached the lotus seat, may I awaken to unsurpassable, perfectly complete enlightenment. I shall become known as the Tathagata Light Radiating from All Directions, King of Glorious Accumulations, and for the sake of teaching the Dharma, I shall entreat him. As long as that Tathagata teaches the Dharma, I shall practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva. When that Tathagata has passed away and the sacred Dharma has declined, may I awaken to unsurpassable, perfectly complete enlightenment immediately thereafter. May the qualities and arrangements of my Buddha-field be just like all the qualities and arrangements of the Tathagata Light Radiating from All Directions, King of Glorious Accumulations. Likewise, may I also perform the deeds of a Buddha and likewise pass into complete Nirvana. And even after passing into complete Nirvana, may the sacred Dharma likewise remain for a long time. The Bhagavan spoke, "Son of good family, you are seeking a great abode. Son of good family, you will obtain an abode just as you have completely taken it up yourself. Son of good family, in that Buddha-field you will attain unsurpassable, perfectly complete enlightenment and become known as the Tathagata Extremely Steadfast, King of Qualities, Jewels, and Accumulations. Son of good family, because you have thus completely taken up the great abode, son of good family, you shall be called Mahasthamaprapta (Great Strength Attained)." He requested, "Bhagavan, if this wish of mine is to be completely fulfilled, then when I prostrate with my five limbs at the feet of the Bhagavan, may the Buddhas, the Bhagavatans of the ten directions, as many as the sands of the Ganges, prophesy to me, and may a rain of various flowers fall. Also prophesied by... and the great earth shook in six ways, and a rain of Sal flowers fell. The Blessed One said: "Listen, you who have firm roots of merit and power! The protectors of the ten directions have prophesied, the great earth has quaked, and a rain of Sal flowers has fallen. You will become like Brahma in the realm of the gods." Then the Brahmin Ocean Dust, as before, joined his hands and spoke to the third prince, named Lordly Host, and with palms joined, he prayed to the Tathagata Jewel Essence as follows: "Blessed One, whatever I have offered and served with all necessities to the Blessed One and the Sangha of monks, whatever good deeds I have done with my body, speech, and mind, and whatever accumulation of merit I possess through rejoicing in these, may all of these be dedicated to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. I will not manifest unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment in a Buddha-field that is afflicted with defilements, nor will I seek to attain it very quickly. As long as I do not manifest unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, during that time I will practice the conduct of enlightenment, and may I see the Buddhas, Blessed Ones, of the other boundless and limitless realms of the ten directions. When I practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva, may I see with my divine eye those Buddhas, Blessed Ones, whom I first exhorted to uphold perfect enlightenment, and those whom I first exhorted there to generate the supreme mind of enlightenment and established in the mind of enlightenment, and those whom I exhorted and established to uphold the perfections, those whom I exhorted to uphold perfect enlightenment, may I see them teaching the Dharma in Buddha-fields as numerous as the motes of dust in Buddha-fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges. When I practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva, I will thus perform the deeds of a Buddha, and as long as any sentient beings are born in my Buddha-field,
