Having been pierced by the great arrow of suffering, weeping and shedding tears, the Bhagavan's complete nirvana is too fast! The Sugata's complete nirvana is too fast! The world's eye disappearing is too fast! The world's eye becoming blind is too fast! Separating, dispersing, and becoming different from such precious sentient beings is too fast! Then, a great wail was uttered. Then, the venerable Ananda, without blinking his eyes, looked at the Bhagavan, and after observing, having heard those words from the Bhagavan, weeping and lamenting, just like a standing tree being cut down, he fell to the ground. Then, the Bhagavan spoke to the venerable Ananda: Ananda, let go, do not grieve, do not lament. Ananda, all things that are liked and disliked will change, separate, disperse, and depart. Whatever is born, compounded, manifested, and dependently originated, how could they not perish? That is impossible, haven't I taught you from the beginning? After the Bhagavan said this, the venerable Ananda said to the Bhagavan: If I am separated and parted from such precious sentient beings, the tamer of sentient beings, the guide of sentient beings, the one who cherishes all sentient beings, the one on whom all sentient beings rely, the teacher, why should I not grieve, Bhagavan? Why should I not lament, Sugata? Bhagavan, if I am to be separated from such a protector of the world, the great compassionate one, the precious eye of benefit and love for all the world, why should I not grieve? Not lament? Bhagavan, it is amazing that my heart has not been torn into a hundred pieces! Bhagavan, it is amazing that I have not died immediately! Bhagavan, it is amazing that I have not immediately broken into various shapes like a skin filled with air! Bhagavan, I am sustained by the blessing of the Bhagavan.

Thinking that the mother's work has not been done. World Honored One, like this, guiding all the precious sentient beings of the world, benefiting the world and being so compassionate, if one cannot see it again in the future, why not be sad? Why not lament? Then, the Buddha World Honored One said to the Venerable Ananda: Ananda, do you love me? Answer: World Honored One, I love you. Sugata, I love you. The Buddha said: Ananda, how much do you love me? Answer: World Honored One, it is not easy to express with pure karma, World Honored One, it is also not easy to express with metaphors, that's how much I love you, World Honored One! Sugata, I love you! World Honored One, even if I completely give up my body and life for the sake of the World Honored One, I will not be unhappy, that's how much I love you, World Honored One! Sugata, I love you! World Honored One, I love you so much, Sugata, I love you so much, World Honored One, the Tathagata himself knows! After answering in this way, the World Honored One said to the Venerable Ananda: Ananda, if I make you feel sad, give me your right hand. Then, the Venerable Ananda offered his right hand. Then, the World Honored One, with his own golden right hand, like being smeared with the best turmeric juice, soft and very young hand, held the hand of the Venerable Ananda, and said to the Venerable Ananda: Ananda, if you love me, do the things of love. So, what is the act of loving me? Ananda, I entrust and give you the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment achieved in countless kalpas, and the unsurpassed treasure of the Dharma, in any case, you must be in harmony with me. After being in harmony, you must also make it vast and prosperous. Do not interrupt it. Do not become beings of the degenerate age. Ananda, the Dharma and Vinaya spoken by the Tathagata, should be made to increase, not decline, and be protected everywhere.

I will show you an example in order to conceal and not waste, and here, some wise people will understand the meaning of what is said through the example. Ananda, for example, a wealthy merchant or householder, possessing great wealth, great enjoyment, numerous warehouses, numerous owners, numerous items and utensils, a perfect lineage, a perfect ancestry, and from a noble lineage, a single son is born. As soon as he is born, in order to develop his senses, he is taught letters, numbers, arithmetic, crafts, and other difficult crafts and difficult arts. After he has learned them, finally, that merchant or householder will say this: Son, I have done all that I could do for you. Letters, numbers, arithmetic, crafts, difficult crafts, and difficult arts have also been learned, and now it is my old age, I will entrust all ownership to you, and you should learn three places and reside in this merchant's house. What are the three? Desire, diligence, and mindfulness. Having said that, the merchant or householder very carefully admonished his only son, and then passed away. And that only son, because of his recklessness, the enjoyments that were not obtained were not obtained, and the enjoyments obtained by his ancestors were all exhausted and disappeared. Ananda, what do you think? Did that merchant's son or householder's son act according to his father's instructions? He replied: Bhagavan, no. Sugata, no. The Buddha said: Ananda, did that father do a little bit of a son's work for that son? He replied: Bhagavan, he did. Sugata, he did. The Buddha said: Ananda, in the same way, the Tathagata is also the father of all the worlds, breathing on you like an only son. Ananda, this is my old age, this is my last teaching, in any case, my Dharma treasury, Dharma vessel, and unsurpassed Dharma wealth, which I have accumulated over countless billions of kalpas, should be maintained and abide by three places. What are the three? Desire, diligence, and mindfulness.
