Accumulating wealth and not accumulating Dharma is called (accumulating wealth). Great Wisdom, what is accumulating Dharma? For example, to perfectly realize and comprehend that one's own mind is merely an appearance, to attain the characteristic of selflessness of persons and dharmas, so that no conceptualization arises, to become increasingly proficient on each of the grounds, causing the cessation of mind, intellect, and consciousness, as well as the wisdom of all Buddhas, the perfect empowerment, to fully receive the ten grounds without limit, and to effortlessly have mastery over all dharmas, this is called Dharma. That is to say, not falling into all views, all elaborations, all conceptualizations, all things, and all extremes. Great Wisdom, non-Buddhist children mostly fall into the two extremes of permanence and annihilation, but the wise do not. Among them, clinging to saying there is no cause, the view of permanence arises. Because the external cause is destroyed, and seeing that there are no things of cause and condition, the view of annihilation arises. Great Wisdom, because not seeing arising, abiding, and ceasing, it is called Dharma. Great Wisdom, this is wealth and Dharma, which you and other Bodhisattva Mahasattvas should study. Then, the Bhagavan, in order to show that meaning again, spoke these verses: All worldly non-Buddhists, what they say is false, thinking there are conceptualizations and actions, therefore they have no own tenets. My tenet is only this, completely abandoning the agent and the act, explaining in detail to the disciples the separation from worldly non-Buddhists. Because only mind is imperceptible, therefore do not discriminate between the two minds. The apprehended and the apprehender have no substance, therefore completely abandon both permanence and annihilation. As long as the mind is still operating, then it is still a worldly non-Buddhist. If conceptualization does not operate, then one can see one's own mind. When coming, it is called things arising, when leaving, things do not appear at all, if clearly knowing coming and going, conceptualization will not arise either. Permanent and impermanent, conditioned and unconditioned,

This world and other worlds, all worlds are like illusions. Then, Mahamati Bodhisattva said to the Blessed One: "Blessed One, what kind of Dharma is called Nirvana?" The heretics each give rise to various discriminations. The Blessed One said: "Mahamati, therefore, listen very well and keep it in mind. I will explain to you how the heretics discriminate Nirvana, and their discriminations are not in accordance with Nirvana." Mahamati Bodhisattva said to the Blessed One: "So be it, I wish to hear." The Blessed One said: "Mahamati, some heretics think that the five aggregates, the twelve sense bases, and the eighteen realms are extinguished, that they are free from desire for the desire realm, that they see all dharmas as impermanent, that the dharmas of mind and mental factors do not arise, that they do not remember the past, future, and present realms, that the aggregates of grasping are extinguished like a lamp extinguished, and that they are destroyed like seeds, so discriminations do not arise. They think that these are Nirvana. Mahamati, it is not right to regard destruction as Nirvana. Some heretics say that going from one direction to another is liberation. Some heretics say that the discriminations of realms are extinguished, and that it is like the wind ceasing, which is liberation. Some heretics say that the complete destruction of wisdom and what is to be known is liberation. Some heretics think that seeing permanence and impermanence is liberation. Some heretics think that attachment to characteristics will produce the cause of suffering, so the mind is not skilled in observing the appearance of one's own mind, and they are afraid of characteristics, and they greatly love and desire to not see characteristics, and they think that this is Nirvana. Some heretics think that understanding the self-characteristics and common characteristics of all internal and external dharmas, and that the dharmas that arise in the past, future, and present are real, and that they are not afraid, and they think that this is Nirvana. Some heretics think that self and

I, mine, sentient beings, life, and all phenomena are perceived as nirvana without destruction. Some non-Buddhists burn wisdom with the fire of wrong views, and see nature and the self. From the existence of these two, what is produced by the self is called nature, like the initial darkness, the qualities transform, and they perceive the creator of qualities as nirvana. Some perceive nirvana through the exhaustion of merit and non-merit. Some perceive it through the exhaustion and knowledge of afflictions. Some perceive nirvana by seeing that all cyclic existences are perfectly made by the Lord. Some believe that all cyclic existences are produced by one another, without any other cause. Thus, they cling to causes and are deluded by them, unable to comprehend. Because they do not comprehend, they perceive it as nirvana. Some non-Buddhists perceive the attainment of the true path of truth as nirvana. Some perceive nirvana by seeing those with qualities and those produced by qualities as aggregates, one, different, both, and neither. Some perceive the nature of things as arising from nature, like the colorful patterns of a peacock's feathers, the source of various jewels, and sharp thorns, and perceive this as nirvana. Some great intellectuals comprehend that the twenty-five existences are the ultimate reality. Some perceive nirvana by governing the kingdom of a king and upholding the teachings of the six virtues. Some see time as the agent, believing that the arising of the world depends on time, and thus, upon comprehending this, they perceive it as nirvana. Some perceive it through things, some through the absence of things, some through fully knowing things and the absence of things. Some perceive nirvana by seeing a distinction between the conceptualization of things and nirvana. Thus, although various such conceptualizations are taught by non-Buddhists, they are abandoned by the wise because they lack valid reasoning. All those great intellectuals fall into the thought of clinging to extremes.
