That is called the Buddhahood of the Buddhas. Great Wisdom, if the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas comprehend those very dharmas, that is also called Buddhahood. Therefore, for that reason, I have taught the One Vehicle. Then, the Blessed One, in order to show that meaning again, spoke this verse: The wise who understand the two kinds of selflessness, who have completely abandoned the two obscurations of afflictions, and who are forever free from the two deaths, that is called Buddhahood. Then again, the Bodhisattva Great Wisdom said to the Blessed One: For what reason does the Blessed One say in the assembly: I am all the Buddhas who have passed away. In various births, I was also, at that time, the Wheel-Turning King Born from the Crown of the Head, the Thirty-Six Elephants, the Parrot, the Independent One, the Sage with Beautiful Eyes, and so on, speaking of hundreds of thousands of births. The Blessed One said: Great Wisdom, because of four similarities, the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones say in the assembly: I myself at that time became the Buddhas Krakucchanda, Kanakamuni, and Kāśyapa. What are the four similarities? They are: similarity of letters, similarity of voice, similarity of dharma, and similarity of body, these are called the four similarities. Thus, because of these four similarities, the Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones speak in that way. Among them, what is the similarity of letters? The letter by which my name is spoken as Buddha, by that letter all the Buddhas are also spoken, because the nature of those letters is without difference, therefore that is called the similarity of letters. Among them, what is the similarity of voice? For example, my voice has the characteristics of sixty-four kinds of Brahma sounds. The voices of those Tathāgatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones also have the characteristics of sixty-four kinds of Brahma sounds, such as the Kalaviṅka and the nature of Brahma sounds.

There is no difference or deficiency in it. What is the similarity of body? It is like this: all Buddhas and I are the same in Dharmakaya, Rupakaya, name, and the body of good marks, without any difference. Except for showing various different forms to tame various different beings, this is called the similarity of body. What is the similarity of Dharma? It is like this: all Buddhas and I have understood the thirty-seven limbs of enlightenment, and briefly explained the Dharma of the Buddha and the unobstructed wisdom. This is called the four similarities. Therefore, the Tathagatas, Arhats, and Samyaksambuddhas say this in the assembly. Then, the Blessed One spoke this verse to explain the meaning again: Holder of Light and Destroyer of Samsara, Golden Sage is also me, the four similarities are equal, I have told the sons of the Victorious Ones. Mahamati Bodhisattva again asked the Blessed One: As the Blessed One said, from the night I attained the supreme perfect enlightenment to the night I will pass into complete Nirvana, I have not spoken a single word, I have not spoken, and I will not speak in the future. Non-speaking is the Buddha's speech. Blessed One, why do the Tathagatas, Arhats, and Samyaksambuddhas say that non-speaking is the Buddha's speech? The Blessed One said: Mahamati, I said this because I considered two kinds of Dharma. What are the two kinds of Dharma? It is like this: the Dharma that one realizes oneself and the Dharma that abides in its own nature, these are the two kinds of Dharma. Considering these two kinds of Dharma, that's why I said that. So, what is the Dharma that one realizes oneself? What the Tathagatas have understood, I also realize myself the ultimate realm of practice, free from the discrimination of words, liberated from the two forms of letters, and understood without any increase or decrease. So, what is abiding in its own nature

What kind of Dharma is it? It is like the old path walked by the past noble ones, just like the nature of things like gold and silver, the realm of Dharma is eternally abiding, whether the Tathagatas appear in the world or not, the realm of Dharma is eternally abiding, just like the roads to those cities exist. Mahamati, for example, if a person wanders in the wilderness and sees a smooth and unerring road leading to an old city, and after entering that city, enjoys the bliss of wish-fulfillment, what do you think, Mahamati? Did he create that road and the various pleasures that exist in the city? Answer: No. The Bhagavan said: Mahamati, the unchanging and abiding realm of Dharma that I and the past Tathagatas have realized is also like that. Therefore, I have said this: From the night I attained perfect and complete enlightenment to the night I enter Nirvana, I have not spoken even a single word, have not spoken, and will not speak in the future. Thus he spoke. Then, in order to further clarify that meaning, the Bhagavan spoke these verses: On what night I manifested enlightenment, on what night I entered Nirvana, in between those two, I have not spoken any words. Because I have directly realized the Dharma nature myself, therefore I speak these words. There is no difference between me and those Buddhas. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahamati again requested the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, please explain the nature of existence and non-existence of all dharmas. In this way, I and other Bodhisattva Mahasattvas will be able to abandon existence and non-existence and quickly realize the unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment. The Bhagavan said: Mahamati, therefore listen very well and keep it in mind, and I will explain it to you. Mahamati replied to the Bhagavan: Good, and listened to the teachings. The Bhagavan said: Mahamati, this world...
