Remembering them, some teach the Dharma by walking. For example, Mahamati, in the world realm of not blinking the eyes, and in the Buddha-field of Incense Accumulation, and in the pure land of the Tathagata Samantabhadra, just by looking without blinking, bodhisattvas attain forbearance of the Dharma of non-origination, and other excellent samadhis. Mahamati, therefore, because there is speech, not all things exist. Mahamati, this also appears in this world. Creatures such as worms and bees also do their own work without speaking. Then, the Bhagavan, in order to further explain that meaning, spoke these verses: Like a rabbit's horn in the sky, and the son of a barren woman, although they do not exist, they can be expressed in words. Attachment to things is also the same. In the Dharmas that are assembled by causes and conditions, fools arise with false discriminations. Because they do not truly understand this principle, they wander in the three realms of existence. Then, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Mahamati again asked the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, what do you mean by the sound of permanence? The Bhagavan replied: Mahamati, it is for delusion. This delusion also appears among the noble ones, but it is not inverted. Mahamati, for example, in the world, unwise people will be attached to mirages, fire wheels, tangled hair, Gandharva cities, illusions, dreams, and images in a reversed way, but wise people will not, nor is it that they do not exist. Mahamati, although those delusions appear in various forms, delusion does not make them impermanent. Why? Because they are separated from the opposition of existence and non-existence. Mahamati, how can it be said that delusion is separated from the opposition of existence and non-existence? For example, because the realms of activity of all children are different. For example, because hungry ghosts in the Ganges River can see and not see, delusion is not truly existent. Because it appears to others, it is also not truly non-existent.

Thus, Norpa is permanent because the noble ones have abandoned what is inverted and not inverted. For example, because the characteristic of signs does not perish. Great Wisdom, Norpa is not of various signs, because the sign of discrimination perishes, therefore Norpa is permanent. Great Wisdom, how is Norpa that itself? If the noble ones do not generate inverted or non-inverted thoughts about this Norpa of cause and condition. Great Wisdom, apart from the noble ones, having even a slight understanding of this Norpa is not the nature of the object of noble wisdom. Great Wisdom, the term 'slight' is a designation made by children through discrimination, not by the noble ones. That Norpa also generates two lineages by discriminating between what is inverted and not inverted: the lineage of the noble ones and the lineage of individual ordinary beings. The lineage of the noble ones is also divided into three types: the Hearer Vehicle, the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, and the Buddha Vehicle. How do individual ordinary beings generate the lineage of the Hearer Vehicle through discrimination? For example, by clinging to self and general characteristics, one becomes a Hearer lineage, and thus, through purification, one generates the lineage of the Hearer Vehicle. Great Wisdom, that very Norpa generates the lineage of the Solitary Buddha Vehicle through discrimination. For example, when meditating on the self and general characteristics of that very Norpa, without clinging, one generates the lineage of the Solitary Buddha Vehicle. How do the wise generate the lineage of the Buddha Vehicle by discriminating that very Norpa? For example, by understanding one's own mind as mere appearance, and thus not discriminating external objects and non-objects, one generates the lineage of the Buddha Vehicle. This is called generating the lineage of the Buddha Vehicle from that very Norpa. Furthermore, the self of various objects

Just as fools discriminate against error, they give rise to the categories of ordinary beings. That which is neither existent nor non-existent is called the meaning of lineage. Mahamati, the noble ones do not discriminate against error, therefore they transcend mind, intellect, and consciousness. Because it is different from the Dharma of the nature of habit, it is called Suchness. Therefore, I say that Suchness is liberation from the mind. In order to show that the characteristics have been abandoned, it is said that it is free from all characteristics. Mahamati asked the Blessed One: Blessed One, is error existent or non-existent? The Blessed One replied: Mahamati, just like an illusion, there is no characteristic of manifest attachment. If error had the characteristic of manifest attachment, then the object of manifest attachment would not be prevented. And this dependent origination would also become like the arising of causes from non-Buddhists. Mahamati asked the Blessed One: Blessed One, if error is the same as illusion, then it will become the cause of other afflictions. The Blessed One replied: Mahamati, illusion is not the cause of error, because it does not produce the faults of bad destinies. Mahamati, illusion does not produce the faults of bad destinies, because it has no discrimination. Mahamati, illusion arises from the power of others' mantras, not from the habits of bad destinies of one's own discrimination, therefore it does not produce faults. Mahamati, it is the ordinary beings who are attached to the mind of error, not the noble ones. Then, the Blessed One spoke this verse in order to further explain that meaning: The noble ones do not see error, Nor is there truly existence in the center. If the center were real, Then error would also become real. Even having abandoned all error, If one still generates characteristics, That itself is error, Extremely
