also performed the empowerment. Just as the lord of power, the Cakravartin king, and the son of the lord of the gods are empowered on the crown of their heads, this is called the blessing of the empowerment by the hands of the Bodhisattvas. Mahamati, this is called the two kinds of blessings of the Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas. If the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the two kinds of blessings, he will be able to see all the Buddhas, but if he does not, he will not be able to see them. Furthermore, Mahamati, all the dhyana, miraculous powers, and the practice of extensively distinguishing the Dharma, etc., of the Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas are all because they abide in the two kinds of blessings of the Tathagata. Mahamati, if the Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas are completely separated from the blessings of the Buddha, they can also confidently teach the Dharma, then all ordinary people can also teach the Dharma. Why is that? Because they do not abide in the blessings. Mahamati, mountains, stones, trees, forests, various musical instruments, cities, villages, houses, and palaces, when the Tathagata comes to the city, due to the blessings, all of them will naturally emit the sound of music, let alone sentient beings? The deaf, blind, and mute can also be liberated from various kinds of suffering. The Tathagata benefits sentient beings with such immeasurable blessings. The Bodhisattva Mahamati again asked the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, for what reason and condition does the Tathagata Arhat Samyaksambuddha bless the Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas who abide in the time of entering into samadhi and the time of special empowerment? The Bhagavan said: Mahamati, in order to abandon the works of Mara and afflictions, and not to fall into the ground of the Hearers and dhyana,

In order for the Tathagatas to attain the ground of wisdom individually, and in order for the Dharma that has been attained to increase and become excellent, therefore, the Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas, bless the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas by establishing blessings in this way. If they are not blessed by blessings, they will fall into the false conceptions of heretical views, as well as the thoughts of the Shravakas and demons, and will not be able to realize the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Therefore, the Tathagatas embrace the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas with blessings. Then, the Blessed One spoke these verses in order to show the meaning again: The one with blessings, the chief of men, The great and pure aspiration, Samadhi and empowerment, etc., Arise in the first and tenth bhumis. The Fourth Chapter of the Holy Lankavatara Sutra. Then, again, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Mahamati said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, you have taught dependent origination, and only explained the causes and conditions, but you have not spoken of the nature of self. Blessed One, the heretics also speak of dependent origination, for example, they say that things arise from the chief, the Ishvara, time, and atoms. Blessed One, you have said that things arise from causes and conditions, and in the explanation, there are schools with interruptions and schools without interruptions. Blessed One, the heretics also say that things arise from existence and non-existence. Blessed One, you also say that things arise from non-existence, and after arising, they also perish. For example, Blessed One, you have said that from ignorance as a condition, there is action, and so on, up to old age and death. This, Blessed One, is that you have explained the assertion of no cause, but you have not spoken of the assertion of cause. Blessed One, you have established "this arises because this exists"

This mother (Tibetan), is not established as arising in sequence, but is the distinction held by the non-Buddhists. The Tathagata is not like that. Why is that? World Honored One, the non-Buddhists manifest the fruit with a cause that is not dependent origination. World Honored One, the cause also depends on things, and things also depend on the cause, so the cause and conditions will also be confused, and similarly, they will also become unrelated to each other. The World Honored One said: Great Wisdom, I do not say that there is no cause, nor do I say that the cause and conditions are confused, but I say "This arises because of this," because of understanding that the grasping and the grasped are without self-nature, and that it is only the manifestation of one's own mind. Great Wisdom, those who are attached to the grasping and the grasped, and who are attached to external objects as real, and who do not understand that it is only the manifestation of one's own mind, will have such faults, but my dependent origination is not like that. Great Wisdom also reported: World Honored One, if speech does not have things, then do all things not exist? World Honored One, if things do not exist, then speech will not arise. World Honored One, therefore, because speech has things, all things also exist. The World Honored One said: Great Wisdom, there is also speech without things, for example: rabbit horns, turtle hair, etc., seem to be spoken in the world, but Great Wisdom, those are neither things nor non-things, they are only speech. As you said, if speech has self-nature, then all things also have it, if that is the case, your statement will collapse. Great Wisdom, speech is not that all the Buddha's lands exist, but speech is what is made. Great Wisdom, in some Buddha lands, by not blinking, some by showing signs, some by moving eyebrows, some by blinking, some by smiling, some by opening their mouths, some by the sound of cymbals, some
