It is not taught by the earth. Moreover, other teachings arise due to the views and thoughts of individual ordinary people. They do not separately establish the nature of things as they are, nor do they skillfully distinguish and show the bliss of samadhi attained by the wisdom of the noble ones themselves. For example, the shadow of a tree appears in water, but it is neither a shadow nor not a shadow, neither the shape of the tree nor not the shape of the tree. Similarly, those who are completely imbued with the habits of heretical views and cling to conceptual thoughts also fail to comprehend that it is merely the appearance of their own mind because they cling to the notions of one and different, existent and non-existent, both existent and non-existent, permanent and impermanent. For example, in a well-cleaned mirror, all images appear without conceptual thought, just as they are. But those images are neither form nor not form. And those foolish people who see form and non-form cling to the concept of form. Similarly, those who have heretical wrong views and cling to the form that appears in their own mind also cling to the views of one and different, both and neither, existent and non-existent, both existent and non-existent, permanent and impermanent. For example, when wind and flowing water meet, sound arises, but that is neither a real thing nor not a real thing. Similarly, those logicians who have heretical wrong views also cling to the views of one and different, both and neither, existent and non-existent, both existent and non-existent, permanent and impermanent. For example, in a vast place without grass and trees, the waves of mirage tremble violently due to the extremely hot light of the sun, but that is neither a real thing nor not a real thing, because of attachment and non-attachment. Similarly, those ordinary people have been deluded by conceptual thoughts since beginningless time.

Influenced by the imprints of past habits, and clinging to arising, abiding, and ceasing through conceptual thought, these are also closely related to one, different, both, neither, existent, non-existent, both existent and non-existent, permanent, and impermanent. Therefore, observing the door of the self-nature that should be known by each individual is like the waves of a mirage. For example, some people use mantras and magic wheels to show things that are not considered sentient beings, and they perform moving actions in conjunction with ghosts and spirits. Children cling to going and coming through conceptual thought. Similarly, those with heretical views and thoughts also cling to dependence and elaboration on the views of one, different, both, neither, existent, non-existent, both existent and non-existent, permanent, and impermanent, and thus make false conjectures. Greatly wise ones, therefore, for those who wish to individually recognize the self-nature of the wisdom of the noble ones, they should completely abandon the conceptual thoughts of wrong views such as arising, abiding, ceasing, one, different, both, neither, existent, non-existent, both existent and non-existent, permanent, and impermanent. Then, the Bhagavan spoke these verses to further clarify this meaning: Like illusion, dream, water reflection, trees, tangled hair comb and mirage, if one thoroughly understands the truth of the three realms, one will ultimately attain complete liberation. Like a thirsty deer running due to delusion, the mind is deceived, although one imagines water in a mirage, there is no real substance of water in it. Likewise, the seed of consciousness, appearing as an object due to shaking and changing, the conceptual thoughts born in children are like the cataracts of those with cataracts. In beginningless samsara, clinging to things as real and manifesting attachment, like an unsociable child rejecting other children, one should completely abandon the clinging to desire. Like illusion, corpse, magic wheel, like clouds, dreams, lightning, if one can understand well, one is liberated, and one should completely cut off the three continuums.
