Having awakened from the thought of entering a beautiful state, if one can recall that state, Mahamati, what do you think? If that person can recall what was seen in the previous dream and does not abandon it, can he be considered wise? Mahamati Bodhisattva said to the Blessed One: No, Blessed One. The Blessed One said to Mahamati: Similarly, those foolish ordinary people who are greatly seized by evil views, those non-Buddhist intellectuals, because they do not understand that the objects appearing in their own minds are like dreams, they rely heavily on the view that things are one, different, both, neither, existent, nonexistent, both existent and nonexistent, permanent, and impermanent. For example, although there is no high or low in a painting, those children will discriminate between high and low. Similarly, in the future, the habits of non-Buddhist evil views will greatly increase, and they will rely on the view that things are one, different, both, neither, existent, nonexistent, both existent and nonexistent, permanent, and impermanent, thereby destroying themselves and others. Moreover, those who abandon existence and non-existence and proclaim non-origination will also say that other things do not exist. These people slander the view of cause and effect, destroy the roots of virtue, and destroy the cause of purity, therefore, those who seek liberation should stay away from them. Those who speak in this way will fall into the view of self and other, discriminating between existence and non-existence, thereby falling into the evil views of addition and denial, causing sentient beings to fall into hell. For example, those with cataracts in their eyes will see tangled hair and then say to the assembly of many people: 'Friends, look here!' But those tangled hairs are ultimately neither truly existent nor completely nonexistent, because they can be seen and not seen. Similarly, those who hold non-Buddhist evil views will also cling to one, different, both, neither, existent, nonexistent, both existent and nonexistent.

It is also not non-existent, and relies heavily on the views of permanence and impermanence, slandering the sacred Dharma, causing oneself to fall and causing others to fall as well. For example, a torch wheel, although not a wheel, is fully perceived as a wheel by children, but not by the wise. Similarly, those with evil views among the non-Buddhists also rely on complete attachment to one and different, both and neither, existent and non-existent, neither existent nor non-existent, permanent and impermanent, thereby generating all things. For example, to a bubble resembling a jewel, children without wisdom perceive it as a jewel, and run and take it with attachment, but those bubbles are neither jewels nor non-jewels, because there are cases of taking and not taking. Similarly, those who are completely accustomed to the habits of discrimination of non-Buddhist evil views will also say that there is birth in the non-existent, and will also say that the existent born from conditions will also be destroyed. Furthermore, the great wise ones possess three kinds of valid cognition and five limbs of speech. After distinguishing them separately, by knowing through their own noble wisdom, one will realize that which is separated from the objects of the two natures. They will discriminate and cling to things as truly existent. Great wise ones, for the mind, intellect, consciousness, body, and the mind that is extremely abiding, and the Tathagata's place where the apprehended and apprehender discriminations of one's own mind's appearance are completely abandoned, the yogi who has attained noble wisdom through individual realization should not have the notion of existence and non-existence. If a yogi generates the characteristics of clinging to existence and non-existence in such objects of experience, then it will become clinging to nourishment, clinging to self, and clinging to person. Great wise ones, all those teachings that show the nature of things, as well as their own characteristics and general characteristics, are taught by the emanation Buddha, not by the Dharma-nature Buddha.
