Those who grasp with names, The noble ones are skilled in meaning through names. The six have no appropriation, Those with appropriation do not comprehend. Free from the fault of existence, The noble ones do not differentiate. The logicians who have abandoned knowledge, Fear permanence and annihilation. They grasp at self in the conditioned and unconditioned, Fools do not differentiate. In oneness, there is also giving, In difference, there is not. The mind and what is together are one, With mind and so on, they are different. When the giving of mind and mental factors is proclaimed, How can it be distinguished from appropriation? It should be understood as one. The object of appropriation, With actions, life, and agents, etc., Through similar and dissimilar ways, It is established as if it were not. Like the object to be burned and the burner, Fire burns simultaneously, Likewise, the self with appropriation, Why do logicians not show it? Even if constantly born and unborn, The mind is extremely clear and bright, With examples that establish the self, Why do logicians not do it? Logicians are those who have abandoned reason, Those who are deluded by dense consciousness, Because they want to speak of self, They run wildly among each other. What is to be realized by individual self-awareness, The self is the nature of purity, The essence of the Thus-Gone One, Is not the realm of logicians. The appropriation and the one who appropriates, The difference and the aggregates, If one knows their nature, The wisdom of reason will arise. What the non-Buddhists say, Is like thinking of the storehouse consciousness, The Dharma that is together with the self, Has not been proclaimed as such. Because they are well distinguished, At the time of liberation and seeing the truth, The afflictions that are abandoned by meditation and seeing, Can also be purified. The nature of the mind is naturally clear, The essence of the Thus-Gone One is virtuous. The appropriation of sentient beings, Is abandoning the extremes of existence and non-existence. Like the color of gold when cleaned, And saffron and khara grass, Just as they are seen, Sentient beings are on the aggregates. There is no person and no aggregates, The Buddha's uncontaminated wisdom, Those who are always peaceful should meditate, In that, I take refuge in the self. The nature of the mind is clear light, And the afflictions of mind and so on, Are together with the self.
