The explanation of knowledge through observation by... For the sake of seeing, it arises from causes. Liberation from the two kinds of conceptualization, perfection itself is also it. The Holy Lankavatara Sutra, the ninth chapter, which is the last. Fields and the emanations of the Buddhas, the One Vehicle and likewise the Three Vehicles, Nirvana and the absence of self, all is emptiness, the abandonment of birth. Thirty-six kinds of distinctions of Buddhas, ten kinds of distinctions, and the mind-streams of individual sentient beings, these are the containers of the fields. How the observed objects are, although various kinds of viewing appear, but the various kinds themselves do not exist in it. The goer is thus, the Dharma is thus, the Buddha is thus. The Buddha of Dharma is the Buddha, the remainder is his emanation. The seed-stream of sentient beings themselves, is seen as appearing as a Buddha. The error arising from the connection of signs, conceptualization strongly enters. From conceptualization, Suchness is not other, from signs also it is not conceptualization. The Svabhavikakaya and the Sambhogakaya, the Nirmāṇakāya and whatever emanation. Many Buddhas are thirty-six, the Svabhavikakaya is the Buddha. Blue, red, salt and conch, milk, sugar and astringent fruits, flowers, etc., just as the rays of light from the sun, the ocean is connected with waves, not one nor different, the seven consciousnesses that are together with the mind are also like that. The ocean completely transformed, those are the various waves, called "Vijnana", the Alaya also arises variously like that. Mind, intellect, and consciousness, are distinguished in terms of characteristics and meaning. The eight consciousnesses are not different signs, there is no basis for signs, there is no characteristic. The ocean and the waves, just as there is no difference, likewise the various consciousnesses on the mind, completely transformed cannot be found. The mind creates various actions, the intellect also creates, the consciousness distinguishes, the fifth consciousness constantly appears. The forms of blue and red, exist in the consciousness of people. Waves are consistent with mind and Dharma, please tell me how long the Great Mighty One will speak. The forms of blue and red, do not exist in the waves, for the meaning of characteristics, for children. The entering of the mind is also explained, for it there is no entering, one's own mind abandons the grasped, if there is a grasped.

Also holds. The waves achieve harmony. Body and enjoyment are like a place, The consciousness of man appears. Therefore, its entry, Appears to be the same as the waves. The substance of the waves is the ocean, If it becomes dancing, Likewise, the entry of the Alaya, Why cannot it be understood by reason? Because children do not have wisdom, The Alaya is like the ocean, For the sake of the law of the arising of waves being consistent, It is approached by analogy. For people of good, bad, and intermediate, Like the appearance and change of an umbrella, Likewise, you, the lamp of the world, Truly teach the children. Engaged in the Dharma, Why do you not speak of suchness? If you speak of suchness, There is no suchness in the mind. Like the waves of the ocean, Like a mirror, like a dream, Like appearing in an instant, Likewise, the mind is also in its own realm. Because it does not match the objects, It arises by entering in sequence. Known by consciousness, The mind also gives rise to arrogance. Appears to the five, Abiding equally without sequence. Like a painter of drawings, Or like a student of drawing, Spreading colors for the sake of drawing, My explanation is the same as this. There is no picture in the colors, There is none on the brush, and none in the container. For the sake of taming sentient beings, Distinguish the pictures of colors. Abandoning the true letters, The explanations are false. Abiding in all dharmas, Also truly taught to yogis. Each self-awareness is true, Abandoning the thinker and the thought, Is taught to the sons of the Buddhas, For children, explain in other ways. Like various illusions, Although they appear, they are not real, Various false explanations, Are also explained in this way. What is shown to others, Is not said to others, Like a doctor to a patient, Giving medicines. Likewise, the Buddha to sentient beings, Also strongly speaks of mind-only. From the seeds of external habitual tendencies, The discriminating thoughts arise greatly. Whoever holds is the root, What is held is what is distinguished. Holding onto the external object, Also relying on the mind, it arises. Two kinds of errors arise,
