It arises for the sake of thoroughly distinguishing the unmanifested Dharma of all Dharmas, seeing the unborn and unceasing, and being separated from the sides of existence and non-existence, in order to comprehend the masterless realm of the Tathagata. Furthermore, Mahamati, the characteristic of non-attachment is wisdom. The characteristic of attachment to various objects is consciousness. Furthermore, Mahamati, the characteristic of the activity of the three aggregates, which possesses birth, is consciousness. The characteristic of the nature of non-possession is wisdom. Furthermore, Mahamati, the characteristic of non-attainment is wisdom, because it does not enter or arise in the realm of experience realized by the self-awareness of each individual noble wisdom, like the moon in water. To this it should be said: By whom does the mind do actions, etc.? Wisdom distinguishes. Prajna also attains the unmanifested, and also attains power well. The mind is connected with objects, wisdom enters into discrimination, and prajna truly enters into the unmanifested and difference. Mind, intellect, consciousness, perception, and thoughts are abandoned. Those who attain the Dharma of discrimination are not the sons of the Victorious Ones, but Sravakas. On the distinction between fields and forbearance, the wisdom of the Tathagata is virtuous. It is born for the sake of distinction, and completely abandons all practices. My wisdom has three aspects: by which the noble ones are distinguished, by which the characteristics are realized, and by which it is related to all things. Not possessing the two vehicles, prajna completely abandons appearances. Because of attachment to the existence of things, the Sravakas arise. Because of merely entering into the mind, the Tathagata's wisdom is without defilement. Furthermore, Mahamati, those who speak of transformation, the heretics, have nine kinds of views about transformation, namely: transformation of shape, transformation of characteristics, transformation of cause, transformation of reason, transformation of view, transformation of birth, transformation of things, transformation of the manifestation of conditions, and transformation of the manifestation of actions. Mahamati, these are the nine views on transformation. After contemplating these, all the heretics believe that transformation arises from the existence and non-existence of self.

It is said to be change. So what is the change of shape? For example, because seeing the shape change into others, just like seeing gold ornaments change into various kinds. For example, Mahamati, gold turns into bracelets, rings, hairpins, etc. If completely changed, although it seems that the shape becomes various, the essence of gold does not change. Similarly, Mahamati, some heretics separately cling to the idea that all things are changing, and some cling to the cause. Those are completely examining and clinging, neither like that, nor other. Like that, all different changes should be seen as yogurt, milk, wine, and fruit ripening. For example, Mahamati, yogurt, milk, wine, and fruit, etc., those heretics separately cling to each change. For that, because one's own mind manifests external objects, and objects do not exist, so existence and non-existence will not change anything. Similarly, Mahamati, it should be seen as the arising of the habitual self-discriminating thoughts of individual children. Mahamati, just like seeing the appearance of illusions and dreams, for this, no dharma enters or leaves. For example, Mahamati, just like seeing the birth and death of Mosham's son in a dream, one also sees entering and leaving. To this, it should be said: birth and things and roots, time and shape and change, existence and non-existence are also gathered in between, whoever clings to those is not wise. The Victorious Ones do not cling to the dependent arising of the world, but these worlds are merely causes and conditions, like a Gandharva city. Then, Bodhisattva Mahasattva Mahamati, in order to completely liberate the meaning of the connection of all dharmas, prayed to the Bhagavan. Bhagavan, by what can I and other Bodhisattva Mahasattvas thoroughly understand the differences in the different characteristics of connection and non-connection, and be proficient in all the methods of connection and non-connection, without clinging to the literal meaning?
