Just as a body is formed from various forms of different individuals of limbs, so too, by individually discriminating various characteristics with discriminating thoughts, one falls into the views and thoughts of worldly heretics because they are contrary to the discriminating thoughts of things and non-things. The Blessed One said: Great wisdom, discriminating thoughts do not arise or cease. What is the reason for this? It is like this: discriminating thoughts do not arise from existence and non-existence, and external appearances of things and non-things, and thinking that one's own mind is only an appearance, therefore, great wisdom, discriminating thoughts neither arise nor cease. Great wisdom, otherwise, children will be attached to the discriminations of various discriminating thoughts in their own minds, and they will be attached to the characteristics of various things, therefore it is said that discriminating thoughts that arise prior to historical events will arise. If these individual children understand that their own discriminating thoughts are only mind, and transform their views from attachment to self and what belongs to self, transform from the faults of cause, condition, and result, and recognize that their own mind is only an appearance, then the mind and thought will be completely transformed, and they will be able to recognize all lands, and the five dharmas of the realm of practice that the Tathagata himself personally knows, as well as the disappearance of self-nature, things, views, and discriminating thoughts will be obtained. Therefore, great wisdom, like this, the discriminating thoughts of illusion will give rise to attachment to various non-true meanings, and by fully understanding the meaning of one's own various discriminating thoughts as they truly are, one will be liberated, I have said so. To this it should be said: The causes and the conditions, What is said to be the arising of the world, Connected with the four extremes, They do not know my principle. From the causes and the conditions, The world does not arise with existence or non-existence, Where there is existence, non-existence, or neither, How do children contemplate? Neither existence, Neither non-existence, neither existence nor non-existence, If the world is seen in this way, Then the mind also transforms, And one will also realize selflessness. What

Therefore, arising from causes, all things are unborn. All causes are effects, and existence does not arise from effects. Because the effect transforms into two, an effect does not arise from an effect. Since it thoroughly transforms into two aspects, the entity of the effect is not observed. Even when there is no observer and nothing to be observed, when does one see all conditioned phenomena? The mind that is without mind is only mind, and I have also said it is only mind. That "only" is the form of inherent nature, abandoning causes and entities. The ultimate entity is the supreme of Brahma, and I have said that is "only." The self is examined as true, but it is not a real entity. Likewise, the nature of the aggregates is imputed and therefore unreal. Equality has four aspects: arising from characteristics, causes, and entities. The equality of selflessness, the fourth yoga of yogis, all views are reversed, abandoning discrimination and examination. That which is without characteristics and unborn, I have also said is only mind. Neither existent nor non-existent, abandoning existence and non-existence, likewise, that which is liberated from the mind, I have also said is only mind. Likewise, suchness and the limit of emptiness, nirvana and the realm of dharma, various bodies of mind, I have also said are only mind. Bound by the connections of conceptual tendencies, various things arise from the mind, and external appearances manifest to people; this is the mind-only of worldly people. Whether external appearances exist or not, the mind appears in various forms. Bodies, enjoyments, dwelling places, and the like, I have also said are only mind. Then, again, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Mahamati asked the Blessed One, saying: "What does it mean, Blessed One, when you say that Bodhisattvas Mahasattvas and others should not grasp the meaning as it is in the words? Blessed One, how does a Bodhisattva Mahasattva not grasp the meaning as it is in the words? What is the word, and what is the meaning?" The Blessed One replied: "Mahamati, therefore, listen very well and keep it in mind, and I will explain it to you." The Bodhisattva Mahasattva Mahamati replied to the Blessed One, saying: "Very well, Blessed One."
