So it is. Mahamati, I said that because I was considering these two dharmata. So, what is the dharmata that considers each individual's own nature? For example, whatever the Tathagatas have realized, each individual's own nature is free from the realm of consciousness and the appearance of words, and is liberated from the realm of letters and duality, I have also realized it without any omission. So, what is the dharmata of the previous custom? Mahamati, for example, this path of the previous dharmata is like the source of gold, silver, and pearls. Mahamati, the abiding of the dharma-dhatu is such that whether the Tathagatas appear or do not appear, its dharmata, the abiding nature of the dharma, and the immutability of the dharma are like entering the path of an ancient city. For example, Mahamati, if someone wanders in a wilderness and sees someone entering an ancient city without getting lost, and then goes to that city, enters and dwells in the city, and experiences the affairs and happiness of the city, Mahamati, what do you think? Was the path by which he entered that city and the various cities made by that person? He replied: No, Bhagavan. The Bhagavan said: Similarly, Mahamati, whatever dharmata, the abiding nature of the dharma, the immutability of the dharma, suchness, reality, and truth that I and those Tathagatas have realized exist. Therefore, Mahamati, that is why I say this: From the night on which the Tathagata attained complete and perfect enlightenment until the night on which he will pass into complete nirvana, the Tathagata has not spoken a single word, nor will he speak. Thus he said: On what night was it realized, On what night did he pass into nirvana, During that time, I did not have even a little teaching. Considering each individual's own dharmas, I have spoken in detail. I and those Buddhas, Have not made the slightest difference. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Mahamati again asked the Bhagavan.

Asked. World Honored One, how can I and other Bodhisattva Mahasattvas quickly attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi by abandoning existence and non-existence? Please explain the nature of existence and non-existence of all dharmas. The World Honored One said: Great Wisdom, therefore, listen very well and keep it in mind, and I will explain it to you. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva Great Wisdom reported: Good, World Honored One. Then, the World Honored One said to the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Great Wisdom: Great Wisdom, these worlds abide in two states. That is: abiding in existence and abiding in non-existence, falling into the view of believing in occurrence for birth and non-birth, is the thought of non-occurrence. Great Wisdom, how does the world abide in existence? That is: the world has causes and conditions, therefore it arises, and it does not arise without them. Existence arises, and non-existence does not. Great Wisdom, if it is said that things exist, then the causes and conditions, and the cause of the world are not from non-existence to existence. Great Wisdom, how does one abide in non-existence? That is: first acknowledging desire, hatred, and ignorance, and then thinking that there is no desire, hatred, and ignorance. Great Wisdom, because the nature of things is completely empty, one does not acknowledge that things exist, and because the nature of things is completely empty, one does not acknowledge that Buddhas, Dharma, and Pratyekabuddhas have desire, hatred, and ignorance. Great Wisdom, what is it that destroys existence and non-existence? The Bodhisattva Great Wisdom said: World Honored One, it is acknowledging desire, hatred, and ignorance first, and then not acknowledging them later. The World Honored One said: Great Wisdom, good, good! Great Wisdom, it is good that you understand it that way. Great Wisdom, merely not having desire, hatred, and ignorance is not destruction, Sravakas and

Solitary realizers and Buddhas are also destroyers. What is the reason for that? It is like this, because afflictions are one, separate, and unattainable in the inner and outer. Great wisdom, because desire, hatred, and ignorance have no body, they are unattainable in the inner and outer. Great wisdom, not acknowledging the objects of desire, hatred, and ignorance, Buddhas, Shravakas, and solitary realizers are also destroyers. Because there is no object to be bound and no cause of binding, those Buddhas, Shravakas, and solitary realizers are naturally liberated. Great wisdom, if there is an object to be bound, then there is also binding and the cause of binding. Great wisdom, saying that is also a destroyer. Great wisdom, that is the nature of non-existence. Great wisdom, considering that, I think that the view of the person is as high as Mount Sumeru, but it is not the view of emptiness with the pride of existence and non-existence. It is said that, great wisdom, those with the pride of non-existence are also destroyers. Thoughts that fall into self-characteristics and general characteristics, not fully knowing that it is only the appearance of one's own mind, because of not knowing, seeing external objects as impermanent, therefore, the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, from one moment to another, the discriminating thoughts that distinguish by separation, and even if one discriminates with the continuous flow of continuity entering and returning without letters, they are also destroyers. To that, it is said: How much is the realm of the mind, existence and non-existence are the two extremes, if the realm of activity is completely abandoned, the mind will also truly cease. Because there is no clinging to objects, cessation is not without reality, just like the realm of activity of the noble ones, so is the state of Suchness. From what has not arisen from conditions of existence and non-existence, what is born, and having arisen, it is destroyed, that does not exist in my teachings. Buddhas and non-Buddhists, who are I and others, if existence is not established by conditions, how can it be established as non-existence? If existence has been established, who will establish that what arises from conditions is non-existent?
