Great Wisdom, you wise ones should understand the meaning of what I have said, "all dharmas are without self-nature." Great Wisdom, things without self-nature are themselves without self-nature. Like horses and cows, all dharmas exist in my things, but not in other things. For example, Great Wisdom, the things of a cow are not the self-nature of a horse, and the things of a horse are not the self-nature of a cow. They exist, but they are not non-existent either. These two are not without their own characteristics, but they have their own characteristics. Similarly, Great Wisdom, all dharmas are not without characteristics either, they exist. Therefore, each ignorant ordinary person grasps at discrimination and understands selflessness, but not through non-discrimination. Similarly, all dharmas should be understood as emptiness, unborn, and without self-nature. Similarly, the Tathagata is neither one with the skandhas nor different from them. If he is not one with the skandhas, then the skandhas are made, therefore they will become impermanent. If they are different, then if there are two, they will become other, like the horns of a cow. Therefore, all things are similar, so they are not different. Seeing the difference between long and short, so they are not different. Great Wisdom, the right horn of a cow is different from the left horn, and the left horn is also different from the right horn, and so are long and short interdependent. Similarly, various colors are also different from each other. The Tathagata is also not different from the skandhas, realms, and sources. Similarly, liberation and the Tathagata are neither different nor one, the Tathagata himself is declared as the name of liberation. If liberation and the Tathagata are different, then they will have the characteristics of form, and because they have the characteristics of form, they will become impermanent. If they are one, then the characteristics obtained by the yogis will have no difference. Great Wisdom, the yogis also see the difference, therefore they are neither one nor different. Similarly, knowledge and

The earth realm is neither one nor different. Great Wisdom, it is neither permanent nor impermanent. It is neither cause nor effect. It is neither conditioned nor unconditioned. It is neither wisdom nor the object of knowledge. It is neither a characteristic nor the basis of a characteristic. It is neither the aggregates nor the distinctness of the aggregates. It is neither speaking nor what is spoken. Oneness and otherness, as well as both and neither, and unrelatedness, are completely contrary to all valid means of cognition. Whatever is completely contrary to all valid means of cognition becomes merely a word. Whatever is merely a word is unborn. Whatever is unborn is unceasing. Whatever is unceasing is equal to space. Great Wisdom, space is neither a cause nor an effect. Whatever is neither a cause nor an effect is without an object of focus. Whatever is without an object of focus is beyond all elaboration. Whatever is beyond all elaboration is the Thus-Gone One, that is, Great Wisdom, the perfectly and completely awakened Buddha, that is, the Buddha, who is completely turned away from all valid means of cognition and faculties. To this, one should say: Valid means and faculties are completely contrary, not an effect and not a cause, there is no wisdom and no object of knowledge, characteristics and the basis of characteristics are also abandoned. Having relied on the aggregates and awakened to Buddhahood, nowhere has anyone seen it. Wherever no one has seen it, how does one cultivate it properly? It is not done, nor is it undone. It is not an effect, nor is it a cause, it is not the aggregates, nor is it with the aggregates, because it is mixed with others. Whatever things, in whose essence, even if investigated, do not appear, that is also not non-existent but impermanent, that is the nature of Dharma. The equivalent of existence is countless, existence is also the equivalent of non-existence. Therefore, one should not understand it as non-existence, nor should one investigate it as existence. Self and non-self, confusing the tenets, those who only adhere to sound, sinking to the extremes of the two, after being destroyed, are ridiculed by children. When will I see my form that is free from all faults? That is the true view, and one will not slander the guides. Then again, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Great Wisdom asked the Blessed One.
