Ah. The body of the Tathagata, which is gradually transformed, will be obtained. Mahamati, therefore, Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas who seek to obtain the body of the Tathagata should follow the Mind-Only, and be free from the conceptual elaborations of the aggregates, realms, and sense bases, mind, causes, conditions, and actions, as well as birth, abiding, and cessation. Having thoroughly seen the three existences arising from the place of elaboration, evil karma, from beginningless time, in order to remember the signless and unborn nature of the Buddhas, by understanding the Dharma realized by each of the noble ones, thereby controlling one's own mind, and understanding the spontaneously accomplished conduct, like jewels of various colors, extremely subtle, the transformation body that follows the minds of sentient beings, and by entering into Mind-Only, one will skillfully connect the junctions of the levels of the earth. Mahamati, therefore, Bodhisattvas-Mahasattvas should be skilled in the tenets of the self. Then, Mahamati again requested: Bhagavan, please explain the essence of the sutras of all Buddhas, the flower of Dharma characteristics, which severs the objects of my mind's appearance, speech, reason, and the destruction of the characteristics of Suchness, which are followed by the mind, intellect, consciousness, the five dharmas, and the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who are the characteristics of self-nature. For the sake of the Bodhisattvas in the city of Lanka and those dwelling in the Malaya Sea, please explain the realm of the Alaya-vijnana, like the waves of the ocean, the Dharmakaya spoken by the Tathagata. Then, the Bhagavan also said to the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Mahamati: Mahamati, eye-consciousness arises from four causes. What are the four? They are: not understanding the grasping of one's own mind's appearance, and clinging to the habitual tendencies of the place of elaboration, evil karma, from beginningless time.

It is to regard the nature of consciousness itself and the characteristics of various forms as rare. Great Wisdom, these four causes, like the stream of water of the Alaya consciousness, give rise to the waves of entering consciousness. Great Wisdom, just as with eye consciousness, so it is with the fine particles and pores of all the senses. Just as the appearance of objects is reflected simultaneously and sequentially in a mirror, and just as the sea is struck by the wind, Great Wisdom, the wind of objects and the waves of the sea of mind, the continuous activity, liberated from one and different, the characteristics of karma and lineage, and the extremely related nature of the essence, which cannot be comprehended, the five aggregates of consciousness enter. Great Wisdom, together with those five aggregates of consciousness, the characteristic of distinguishing the differences between cause and object is comprehended, and the mind consciousness, which is said to be, the self-nature arising from those causes, enters greatly. They and they think thus, we are together as mutual causes, and we enter with manifest attachment to the appearance of our own mind's discrimination, but they do not think so. However, in the characteristic of being inseparable from each other, they enter together into the distinction of the objects of consciousness, and when they enter in this way, even the yogis who are in meditative equipoise do not know how the subtle habits enter, and the yogis think thus, we have stopped the consciousnesses and entered into meditative equipoise, but they enter into meditative equipoise without stopping the consciousnesses, because the seeds of habit are not stopped, they are not stopped. Because they do not enter into and grasp objects, they are stopped. Great Wisdom, the movement and entry of the Alaya consciousness is so subtle that, except for the Tathagatas and the Bodhisattvas who abide on the ground, others, such as the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and the yogis of the heretics, cannot comprehend it, nor is it easy to realize with the power of Samadhi and wisdom. Great Wisdom.

The great wise one, in another place, possesses the characteristics of being a worthy object of reliance, is skilled in wisdom and clear knowledge, is undoubtedly adept at distinguishing words, has accumulated immeasurable roots of virtue in the presence of the Buddhas, their own mind's appearance is free from the elaboration of conceptualization, dwells in dense forests, caves, and thickets, and yogis of superior, middling, and inferior capacity see the continuum of the appearance of conceptualization of their own minds, and are able to obtain empowerments, powers, strengths, superknowledges, and samadhis from the Buddhas of limitless realms. The image of a virtuous spiritual friend drawn by the great wise one enables the mind, intellect, and consciousness to transcend the sphere of activity of the nature of their own mind's appearance, namely, the cycle of conceptualization, the ocean of existence, and the causes arising from karma, desire, and ignorance. Great wise one, therefore, the yogi should diligently strive to rely on the image of a virtuous spiritual friend. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan spoke these verses: Just as the waves of the ocean, arising from the condition of the wind, dance and arise greatly, and there is no interruption, so too the river of the base of all, is constantly moved by the wind of objects, and the waves of various name-consciousnesses, dance and arise greatly. Blue, red, and salty, ghee, milk, and sugar, astringent fruits and flowers, like the rays of the sun and moon, the waves of the ocean, know that they are neither one nor different. Likewise, the seven consciousnesses are also complete together with the mind. The completeness of the great ocean, is those various waves, what is called name-consciousness, the base of all also arises in various ways. Mind, intellect, and name-consciousness, are well observed in the meaning of the essence, the eight are not different names, the basis of name and essence are without. Just as the ocean and the waves, are without difference, so too the mind and name-consciousness, completeness is also unobtainable. The mind creates actions and so forth, the intellect also creates various things, name-consciousness knows various things, the five appear
