These are the three characteristics of the noble ones. If one possesses the three characteristics of the noble ones, then the noble ones will comprehend the realm of wisdom of their own individual selves. Therefore, Mahamati, one should strive to cultivate the three characteristics of the noble wisdom of the noble ones. Then, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Mahamati, blessed by all the Buddhas, having thoroughly understood the minds and thoughts of those Bodhisattva retinues, requested the Blessed One to teach the Dharma category called "Discriminating the Essence of Noble Wisdom." Where do the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened Ones abide, and how do they show the Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas the nature of complete imputation belonging to their own and common characteristics, thoroughly revealing the principle of realization, and in what way do they thoroughly reveal the difference in the principle of realizing the nature of complete imputation, thereby extremely subduing the selflessness of beings and phenomena, and those who are skilled in the grounds surpass the meditation, samadhi, and the bliss of absorption of all the Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and non-Buddhists, and the Tathagata enters the realm of knowledge, the five inconceivable dharmas, and is liberated from the realization of self-nature, the Dharmakaya of the Tathagata, the Dharma nature that is deeply connected with wisdom and knowledge, manifested by the realm of illusion, all Buddha-fields, the Tushita Palace, and the Akanishta abode, the body of the Tathagata approaching and abiding is perfectly attained. Please explain to me the essence of noble wisdom, discriminating the Dharma category, the place of one hundred and eight deeply revealed verses. The Blessed One said: Mahamati, for this, one should cut off the attachment of non-Buddhist seers to non-existent things. Because the cause of the discriminating mind has ceased and the nature does not exist, it is thought that rabbits have no horns. Just as rabbits have no rabbit horns, so all dharmas are also discriminated in this way. Mahamati, furthermore, arising and qualities and particles

I, having seen the differences in substance, shape, and example, the rabbit's horn appears to be non-existent, and those who are attached to the idea that cow horns exist. Thus, they discriminate. Mahamati, falling into the views of two extremes, those wise ones who only have mind and have not realized it, because of the limitations of their own minds, they discriminate about the body and, enjoyment and, place and behavior and, only discrimination, Mahamati, do not examine the reversal of the existence and non-existence of the rabbit's horn. Similarly, Mahamati, all things are also contrary to existence and non-existence. Do not examine. Mahamati, in any case, the rabbit's horn, which is contrary to existence and non-existence, thinks that it does not exist. Do not examine those who think that the rabbit's horn does not exist because of the cause of mutual dependence. Mahamati, if examined to the finest dust, things are invisible, because of non-existence, do not examine the existence of cow horns that are contrary to the realm of the wisdom of the noble ones. Then, before the Bhagavan, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Mahamati said this: Bhagavan, if after seeing the characteristics of non-arising discrimination, one infers, relying on non-arising discrimination, one would say that it does not exist. The Bhagavan said: Mahamati, it is not said that it does not exist by relying on non-arising discrimination. Why is that? Because that is the cause of arising discrimination. Mahamati, discrimination arises depending on its horn. Mahamati, like this, because discrimination arises depending on the horn, therefore, because it is the cause of dependence, and is other and, non-other, because of complete abandonment, do not rely on it and say that the rabbit's horn does not exist. Mahamati, the rabbit's horn and discrimination, if they are really other, then they would not be produced from the cause of the horn. If it is not other, then because it is produced from its cause, if examined to the finest dust, it is invisible, because it is not other than the horn, it will also become non-existent. If both do not exist, then who will rely on what and generate faith? Mahamati.
