Observe, these three realms are not caused by arising and transformation from arising. They are merely names and discriminations, merely names and discriminations of one's own mind's appearances. The characteristics of the four extremes are completely pure, without self and what belongs to self. The abode of self-nature abides exactly as it is. One clearly sees that self-nature is established without being born. Furthermore, Great Wisdom, how are the transformations caused by the arising of the great elements? Like this, Great Wisdom, discriminating moisture, the great element accomplishes the inner and outer water realm. Great Wisdom, discriminating heat, the great element accomplishes the inner and outer fire realm. Great Wisdom, discriminating movement, the great element accomplishes the inner and outer wind realm. Great Wisdom, discriminating and analyzing the distinctions of form, the great element generates the inner and outer earth realm together with space. By clinging to falsehood as truth, the five aggregates combine, and the great elements and what is transformed from the great elements arise. Great Wisdom, consciousness also clings to words and various objects, and due to the cause of desire, it connects to rebirth in other realms. The arising of earth and what is transformed from arising, have the cause, which is the great elements, but there are no great elements. Why is that? Great Wisdom, like this, because there is no entity, sign, self-nature, shape, nature of action, and combination, the great elements do not arise. Those that possess entity, sign, self-nature, shape, action, and combination, their actions arise from aggregation, not from those that do not possess signs. Therefore, Great Wisdom, the self-nature of the great elements and what is transformed from the great elements is discriminated by the non-Buddhists, not by me. Furthermore, Great Wisdom, the nature and self-nature of the aggregates have been well explained. Great Wisdom, those five aggregates, what are the five? Like this, form, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. Great Wisdom, those four aggregates

is formless, namely feeling, conception, formation, and consciousness. Great Wisdom, form is made of the four great elements, and the elements whose characteristics are incompatible with each other. Great Wisdom, the formless is not counted as four, like space. For example, Great Wisdom, although space has transcended the nature of number, yet "one is space" is distinguished in this way. Similarly, Great Wisdom, the aggregates also transcend the nature of number and counting, and are separated from the form of existence and non-existence, and are separated from the four extremes. However, children speak of number and counting, but not the noble ones. Great Wisdom, the noble ones regard the colorful colors like illusions, abandoning one and different, like the person in dreams and images, not living elsewhere, and because they are extremely ignorant of the realization of the wisdom of the noble ones, the distinction of aggregates appears. Great Wisdom, that is the nature of the aggregates of the aggregates, you should stop that distinction. After stopping the distinction, in order to stop the wheel altar and heretical views in all Buddha lands, the extremely tranquil Dharma should be proclaimed. Great Wisdom, after proclaiming the extremely tranquil Dharma, one can purely see the selflessness of Dharma, and can also extremely enter the distant realm. Thereupon, after extremely entering the distant great realm, one can freely use many samadhis. Because of extremely obtaining the mind-born body, one can extremely obtain the illusion-like samadhi. After understanding those powers, supernormal powers, and freedoms, one becomes the livelihood of all sentient beings like the earth. For example, Great Wisdom, the earth is the livelihood of all sentient beings, similarly, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva also becomes the livelihood of all sentient beings. Furthermore, Great Wisdom, there are four kinds of Nirvana, what are the four kinds? Namely, Nirvana without the nature of things and the nature

Nirvana without various things, and nirvana realizing that one's own nature has no things, and nirvana where the continuum of the self and common characteristics of the aggregates is cut off. These are the nirvanas of the great wise heretics, not in my scriptures. Great wisdom, in my scriptures, is called the nirvana of reversing the mind consciousness with conceptualization. The greatly wise one asked: Did the Blessed One not establish the eight consciousnesses? The Blessed One replied: Great wisdom, established. The greatly wise one asked: If the Blessed One established it, how can the mind consciousness cease? Are the seven consciousnesses not gone? The Blessed One replied: Because of its cause and object, the seven aggregates of consciousness will arise. Great wisdom, the mind consciousness is particularly attached to and arises from distinguishing objects, therefore habits make the alaya consciousness very vast. Together with the mind, it is particularly attached to grasping self and what belongs to self, and follows like clinging to self. The alaya consciousness becomes the cause and its object, is the nature of different bodies. Because of particular attachment to the object of one's own mind's appearance, the aggregate of one mind becomes the cause of one. Great wisdom, like the waves of the ocean, are moved by the wind of the object of one's own mind's appearance, entering and returning. Therefore, great wisdom, due to the cessation of mind consciousness, the seven consciousnesses will also cease. It is said like this: Actions and characteristics, and things, I do not pass into nirvana, from the discriminating consciousness, through elimination I pass into nirvana. That is the cause, that is the object, the continuum of mind also exists extremely, the continuums of mind all arise from it, and consciousness also exists excellently. Just as when a great water is exhausted, the waves will not arise at all, similarly various consciousnesses, if they stop, will not arise. Furthermore, great wisdom, all
