In order to show birth in the wheel of rebirth, (the Buddha) demonstrates entering the wheel. Mahamati, to explain the various aspects of entering the realm of discrimination, it is like this: meditation to attain the fruit, and becoming meditation, and being distinct from the meditator, and acknowledging the appearance of one's own mind and attaining the fruit, this is shown as the characteristic (of meditation). Furthermore, Mahamati, if a stream-enterer thinks, "These are all fetters. If I think that I do not possess these, I will become dualistic and fall into the view of self, and I will not abandon the fetters." Furthermore, Mahamati, in order to completely turn away from meditation, the immeasurable, and the formless realms, one should turn away from the nature of the appearance of one's own mind. For the absorption of the cessation of perception and feeling, the Mind-Only school says, Mahamati, that also cannot transcend the continuum of the appearance of one's own mind. Therefore, it should be said like this: Meditations and the immeasurable, Samadhi and the formless, And the cessation of all perceptions, Do not exist in Mind-Only. The fruit of stream-entry, And likewise the once-returner, And the fruit of non-return, And even the Arhat himself are mental delusions. Meditation, what is to be meditated on, the meditator, Abandoning and seeing the truth, For those who are merely conceptualizations, Who will liberate those conceptualizations? Furthermore, Mahamati, there are two kinds of wisdom: the wisdom of excellent discrimination, and the wisdom of excellent establishment due to attachment to grasping the nature of discrimination. Mahamati, the so-called wisdom of excellent discrimination is like this: when one thoroughly examines the nature and characteristics of things with wisdom, one does not perceive (things) that are free from the four extremes. That is the wisdom of excellent discrimination. Mahamati, the so-called four extremes are like this: being separate from one and different, and both and neither, and existent and nonexistent, and permanent and impermanent, these are called the four extremes. Mahamati, all dharmas are said to be separate from those four extremes. Mahamati, these four extremes should be thoroughly applied to the complete investigation of all dharmas. Mahamati,

What is the wisdom that is established due to attachment to the nature of discrimination? For example, Mahamati, due to attachment to the nature of discrimination, one clings to the nature of the great elements, such as heat, moisture, motion, and hardness, which are not truly produced by complete imputation. And due to attachment to causes, natures, and metaphors, one imputes in a non-real way, and this is imputation. This is the wisdom that is established due to attachment to the nature of discrimination. Mahamati, this is the nature of the two wisdoms. With what nature of the two wisdoms can a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva comprehend and understand the nature of selflessness of phenomena and persons, and be skilled in discriminating the practice grounds in the wisdom of no appearance, thereby attaining the first ground? One can enter into a hundred samadhis. By obtaining the distinctions of samadhi, one can also see a hundred Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. In a hundred kalpas, one can manifest the initial and final limits and a hundred fields. After manifesting a hundred fields, one gradually knows the ritual of the nature of the higher and higher grounds. One transforms through the distinctions of aspiration, and is empowered by the empowerment of the cloud of Dharma. After the Tathagatas each attain it, they become the Dharma that is fully in accordance with the ultimate ten grounds. Each abides in the bliss of self-realization, and in order to fully ripen sentient beings, they adorn with various emanated rays of light. Mahamati, furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should also be skilled in the great elements and what arises from the great elements. Mahamati, how can a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva be skilled in the great elements and what arises from the great elements? Mahamati, in this regard, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva should truly learn that the unarisenness of the great elements is the truth. These great elements are not truly produced, one should see it thus. Having seen it thus, one can understand that one's own mind is only an appearance, and because external objects do not exist, therefore...
