Due to ignorance, manifest clinging has been accumulated for a long time. Furthermore, since beings lack a self, they will be abandoned because there is no grasping. A great wisdom being who has entered the stream, the view of the co-emergent aggregate of decay is the equality of one's own and others' bodies, the four aggregates are the nature of formlessness, the arising of form is due to phenomena, transformed from phenomena, and the phenomena are mutually the nature of cause, therefore form is not produced. Because the stream-enterer does not see the aspects of existence and non-existence, the view of the aggregate of decay will be abandoned. Therefore, in this way, abandoning the view of the aggregate of decay will not generate desire, and great wisdom is the nature of the view of the aggregate of decay. The nature of doubt of great wisdom is like this: because of understanding the dharma to be attained and the nature of being very visible, the dualistic discrimination of the previous view of the aggregate of decay is abandoned, therefore there will be no doubt about the dharmas, and one will not look to other teachers because of purity and impurity. This is the nature of the doubt of the great wisdom being who has entered the stream. How does a great wisdom being enter the stream without being complacent about morality? It is like this: because one thoroughly sees the nature of the place of birth of suffering, one is not complacent. The complacency of a great wisdom being is like this: through morality, asceticism, and unchanging asceticism, naive ordinary people seek enjoyment and happiness, thereby seeking birth in samsara, therefore one is not complacent. In this way, not being complacent, one also fully understands that one will go to the difference of one's own enlightenment, like the branches of morality, without discrimination, and in conjunction with the nature of the undefiled dharma. This is the nature of the morality and asceticism complacency of the great wisdom being who has entered the stream. A great wisdom being who has abandoned the three all-fettering stream-enterers will not generate desire, hatred, and ignorance. The great wisdom being asked: World Honored One, you have taught many kinds of desire, so which desire has been abandoned? The World Honored One taught:

O Mahamati, that which arises from encountering women, due to the desire of the physical senses for objects, is presently pleasurable but will become a cause for the arising of suffering in the future. Desires such as embracing, joining palms, entwining necks, kissing, caressing, smelling, and glancing sideways do not arise in him. Why is that? It is because he has abandoned them, having attained the state of abiding in the bliss of samadhi. However, the desire to realize its cessation has not been abandoned. O Mahamati, what is the characteristic of a once-returner? It is like this: the conceptualization that appears as the basis of signs by viewing signs, and as the characteristic of form due to the absence of signs, arises only once. Having thoroughly seen the characteristic of the object of meditation, he comes to this world only once and completely passes into nirvana in order to exhaust suffering. Therefore, he is called a once-returner. O Mahamati, how is one a non-returner? It is like this: he does not engage with the characteristics of form, whether existent or non-existent, that have arisen in the past, future, and present, and the latent conceptualization of the fault of views does not arise; therefore, he is a non-returner. Because all bonds have been abandoned, he is called a non-returner. O Mahamati, an Arhat is called an Arhat because he has no conceptualization of meditation, the practice of meditation, samadhi, liberation, powers, supernormal knowledge, afflictions, and suffering. Mahamati asked: O Blessed One, since the Blessed One has spoken of three kinds of Arhats, O Blessed One, with what is the term Arhat associated? Is it that the Blessed One has well attained the path of solitary peace, or that they are accustomed to aspirations for enlightenment and are ignorant of the roots of virtue, or are they emanations created by transformation? The Blessed One replied: O Mahamati, it is the Shravakas who have well attained the path of solitary peace, not the others. O Mahamati, because Bodhisattvas practice the conduct of Bodhisattvas, they are able to speak, and the other beings emanated by the transformation of the Buddhas are skillful in means, and because aspirations precede them, they adorn the mandala of the Buddha's retinue.
