If it is said that the view of destruction has been completely abandoned, it is like this: all things are like the arising of illusions and dream images, and because there is neither self nor other, they do not arise. Following only the appearance of one's own mind, and seeing that there is no external object, therefore the various consciousnesses do not enter. And seeing that the various conditions also have no aggregates or accumulations, and thus seeing that the three realms arise from the conditions of discrimination. Because one sees that all internal and external dharmas are unobtainable and without self-nature, the view of arising is completely reversed. Therefore, by truly understanding the nature of dharmas such as illusion, one can excellently obtain forbearance of the unborn dharma. Abiding on the eighth ground, one thoroughly understands the mind, intellect, consciousness of intellect, five dharmas, self-nature, and the two selflessnesses, and therefore one can also excellently obtain the mind-made body. World-Honored One, for what reason is it called the mind-made body? The World-Honored One said: Great Wisdom, the so-called mind-made body is called the mind-made body because it is as unimpeded and swift as the mind. Great Wisdom, it is like this: the mind has no obstruction to mountains, walls, rivers, trees, etc., and can foresee hundreds of thousands of yojanas away, and remembers the objects that have been experienced, and the body whose stream of consciousness is uninterrupted enters with unimpeded steps. Great Wisdom, similarly, as soon as the mind-made body is obtained, it is filled with the power of illusion-like samadhi, and the flowers of power, dominion, supernormal knowledge, wisdom, and qualities bloom, and it arises together with the noble ones, and without obstruction to beings, it remembers the objects of previous aspirations, and enters as desired in order to fully ripen sentient beings. Thus, Great Wisdom, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva has completely abandoned the views of birth, abiding, and destruction. Great Wisdom, then how can the Bodhisattva Mahasattva be skilled in understanding that external objects are unreal? Great Wisdom, it is like this: all things are like mirages and dreams.

Like paths and tangled hair. All things arise from the cause of attachment manifesting from the various habitual patterns of discursive thought of negative karma, the place of elaboration, from beginningless time. Therefore, having correctly seen that there is no self-nature, the noble ones individually manifest devotion to the realm realized by their own wisdom. Mahamati, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who possesses these four dharmas is a yogi of great yoga. Mahamati, you should strive in this. Then, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Mahamati again requested the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, by what understanding of the characteristics of cause and condition can I and other Bodhisattvas be free from the conceptualization of seeing existence and non-existence, and without conceptualizing whether all things arise gradually or simultaneously, please explain to me the characteristics of cause and condition of all unchanging dharmas. The Bhagavan said: Mahamati, the characteristic of dependent arising of all dharmas is twofold, namely, external and internal. Mahamati, the external dependent arising is that pottery arises through conditions such as a lump of clay, the work of hands, a wheel, string, water, and human effort. Mahamati, just as pottery arises from a lump of clay, so cloth arises from weaving, lacquerware from resin, sprouts from seeds, textiles from spindles and other human efforts, and butter arises from yogurt. These, Mahamati, are external dependent arisings, where the later arises from the earlier. Mahamati, internal dependent arising is as follows: ignorance, craving, karma, and these dharmas, etc., obtain the name "dependent arising." Mahamati, the dharmas of aggregates, elements, and sense bases that arise from these also obtain the name "dependent arising," and these arise from non-differentiation and are discriminated by children. Mahamati, the cause therein is:

There are six types: the cause of arising, the cause of relation, the cause of nature, the cause of action, the cause of manifestation, and the cause of dependence. Among them, Mahamati, the cause of arising refers to performing the function of a cause in order to generate internal and external dharmas. Mahamati, the cause of relation refers to performing the function of an object in order to generate internal and external skandhas and seeds, etc. Mahamati, the cause of nature refers to immediately producing nature and establishing connections. Mahamati, the cause of action refers to performing the function belonging to freedom, like a Chakravartin king. Mahamati, the cause of manifestation refers to the nature of the arising of conceptualized objects, performing the function of manifestation, like a lamp illuminating forms, etc. Mahamati, the cause of dependence refers to, at the time of transformation, in order to generate non-conceptualized objects, the constant function is not interrupted. Mahamati, these are measured by ordinary people with their own minds' conceptualizations, and they do not enter gradually, nor do they arise simultaneously. What is the reason for this? Mahamati, if they arise simultaneously, then because the cause does not possess the nature of a cause, the difference between action and agent will also cease to exist. If they arise by entering gradually, then from a self that does not possess nature, gradual entry will not occur. Mahamati, just as calling someone a father before a son is born, the way of relating by gradual entry of conceptualizers is also unreasonable. Mahamati, things that are produced by causes and objects, as well as immediately following and dominant conditions, and in order to generate, they do not arise by gradual entry. Mahamati, because it is the nature of the manifestation of clinging to the nature of pervasive calculation, it does not arise gradually or simultaneously. Mahamati, because it is the body of one's own mind's appearance and the one who possesses enjoyment, therefore the self and the general nature, because there are no external objects, do not arise gradually or simultaneously, otherwise the conceptualization of one's own mind's appearance will
