O Mahamati, this is the lineage of those who will realize the Sravaka Vehicle. With the view of realizing the Sravaka Vehicle, in the sixth and fifth grounds, having completely abandoned the afflictions that arise from all sides, and not having completely abandoned the afflictions of habit, possessing inconceivable death and transference, they will proclaim the lion's roar, "My birth is exhausted, the practice of purity is established, what was to be done is done," and so forth. Having spoken thus, from being completely familiar with the non-self of the person, the mind transforms until Nirvana. Other Mahamatis seek Nirvana by understanding that there is a self, sentient beings, life, nourishment, a person, and a being. Still other Mahamatis, seeing that all things depend on causes, transform into a mind that desires Nirvana. O Mahamati, because they do not see the non-self of dharmas, there is no liberation. O Mahamati, this is the accomplishment of the realization of the Sravaka Vehicle, and the mind of those who arise from non-Tirthika lineages. O Mahamati, you should strive to dispel these evil views. O Mahamati, if that one is of the lineage of those who will realize the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle, then when the realization is taught to him alone, he will weep, his heart will tremble, the hairs of his body will stand on end, and because of the absence of noise, he will develop a manifest attachment to things. And he will be delighted to proclaim the various magical transformations of his own body, and the manifestation of twin miracles. Knowing that he is of the lineage of those who will realize the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle, one should speak words that accord with the realization of the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle. O Mahamati, this is the characteristic of the lineage of those who will realize the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle. O Mahamati, if that one is of the lineage of those who will realize the Tathagata Vehicle, there are three types: thus, the lineage of realizing the dharma of the emptiness of the self-nature of nature, and the

And, the lineage of manifesting and realizing the vast and pure Buddha-fields of the Buddhas. Mahamati, if any one of these three is taught, and if one teaches one's own mind-manifested body, and the Alaya consciousness, and the enjoyment, and the inconceivable place, if one does not become unafraid, un-terrified, un-alarmed, then know that this is the lineage of one who can manifest and realize the Tathagata-yana. Mahamati, this is the characteristic of the lineage of one who can manifest and realize the Tathagata-yana. Mahamati, for those of uncertain lineage, when teaching these three, one should follow what they like. Mahamati, like this, distinguishing lineages, this is the ground of complete purification, and it is distinguished in order to enter the ground of no-appearance. Each one, in their own Alaya consciousness, after their own defilement habits are purified, because they see the selflessness of phenomena, having obtained the joy of abiding in samadhi, even the Shravakas will be able to completely obtain the Dharma-body of the Victorious Ones. Then, the Bhagavan spoke these verses: The fruit of Stream-enterer, and the Once-returner, the Non-returner, and even the Arhat, are also those whose minds are defiled. For the foolish and those of shallow wisdom, I speak of three vehicles and one vehicle, and also no vehicle; for the noble ones, it is solitude. Abandoning the two kinds of consciousness, is the gateway to the supreme meaning; distinguishing in the three vehicles, where will there be abiding in no-appearance? Dhyanas and immeasurables, and formless ones and samadhis, and the cessation of perception, all are not in mind-only. Mahamati, how do those who are greedy not desire liberation? Like this, abandoning all roots of virtue, and wishing for all sentient beings from beginningless time. Among them, what is abandoning all roots of virtue? Like this, regarding the Bodhisattva-pitaka, saying that these are not sutras and vinaya that are in accordance with liberation, thus abandoning and slandering, because one has abandoned all roots of virtue, one cannot transcend suffering. Mahamati, two

Thus, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, until all sentient beings have not completely passed into Nirvana, I also will not enter Nirvana. Because of such aspiration in existence, and prior skillful means, therefore, they do not enter Nirvana. Great Wisdom, this is the self-nature of those who do not enter Nirvana, they are extremely able to obtain the conduct of great desire. Great Wisdom again asked the Buddha: World Honored One, what is it that extremely does not enter Nirvana? The World Honored One said: Great Wisdom, the great desire of a Bodhisattva is to know that all dharmas are from the beginning already Nirvana, therefore extremely does not enter Nirvana, it is not the great desire to abandon all roots of virtue. Great Wisdom, the great desire to abandon all roots of virtue, is also by the blessing power of the Tathagatas, if one in a hundred, then it can purify all roots of virtue. Why is that? Great Wisdom, like this, the Tathagatas have never abandoned all sentient beings. Great Wisdom, therefore, the great desires of Bodhisattvas do not enter Nirvana. Furthermore, Great Wisdom, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should be skilled in the three self-natures. Great Wisdom, that which is the completely imputed nature arises from characteristics. Great Wisdom, how does the completely imputed nature arise from characteristics? Great Wisdom, that which is the other-dependent nature appears like the nature of the characteristics of things. Great Wisdom, those who are attached to the nature of the characteristics of things, such as the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, etc., establish the completely imputed nature as two kinds by the nature of being attached to names, and the nature of being attached to the characteristics of things. Great Wisdom, those who are attached to the nature of the characteristics of things, this is to say, being attached to internal and external dharmas. Great Wisdom, those who are attached to the nature of characteristics, this is to say, the self and general characteristics of those internal and external dharmas are completely
