The realm of the sphere, the realm of form, the realm of the formless, the ripening and the non-real, and the non-real are tamed, and karma and ripening are also tamed. Sharadvati's son, because they have no pervasive thought, all the dharmas arising from pervasive thought are tamed and liberated, therefore they are called the awakened ones. Why are they called those who have reached the other shore? Sharadvati's son, they have defeated the demon, defeated all the afflictions of the demon's side, reached, crossed, dried up, and reached the other shore of all dharmas, therefore they are called those who have reached the other shore. Sharadvati's son, no matter how much I speak of the qualities of the Arhat who has exhausted the outflows, Sharadvati's son, it will not diminish his qualities. Sharadvati's son, the Arhat who has exhausted the outflows is an extremely pure, stone and thorn-free, extremely pure great field. Sharadvati's son, for the Arhat who has exhausted the outflows, even if someone scolds or obstructs, he will not think, 'This person is scolding or obstructing me.' When someone praises or does not praise, he will not think, 'This person is praising or not praising me.' Sharadvati's son, the Arhat who has exhausted the outflows is the one who has cut off all pride. Sharadvati's son, the Arhat who has exhausted the outflows is the one who has nothing to guard. Sharadvati's son, the Arhat who has exhausted the outflows has no dharma to guard, because he has well guarded the senses, obtained the determined ground, is the lamp of dharma, is the refuge of dharma, is his own lamp, is his own refuge. Sharadvati's son, therefore, if a bhikshu abides in this way, he will not abandon the Tathagata's Bodhi, nor will he do irrational things, nor will he have the blameworthy behavior of wise men who practice Brahmacharya, and in order to protect Bodhi in the future, not harm, not abandon, and in order to abide for a long time, he will enter, such a person should be considered an Arhat. Sharadvati's son, Arhat

For those who have exhausted defilements, there is no doubt about the Dharma in relation to all dharmas. Sharadvatiputra, the Arhat who has exhausted defilements, is without hesitation and free from doubt. Sharadvatiputra, the Arhat who has exhausted defilements, is a transcender and will surely transcend from the perilous path. He dwells in the upright place, is upright, has become upright, and has come from the upright path. Then, the venerable Sharadvatiputra said to the Bhagavan: "Bhagavan, an Arhat who has exhausted defilements should not be considered as abandoning the Dharma." Why is that? "Bhagavan, those are the actions of children, those are not the actions of Arhats, just like abandoning the Dharma." After saying this, the Bhagavan said to the venerable Sharadvatiputra: "Sharadvatiputra, it is so, it is so. Sharadvatiputra, those are the actions of children, not the actions of Arhats, however, Sharadvatiputra, in the future time, there will be monks who are overcome by fearlessness, those who only through meditation, only through abiding, only through living in solitude, will think of themselves as being without defilements. They will fully understand and will generate pride in themselves. Therefore, at that time, Brahmins and householders, those with faith and great interest, and those with great determination, will fully understand that this Arhat is a place of offering, is one who has exhausted defilements. And they will think that they should make more offerings to him. Those foolish people will also be conquered by reverence, conquered by gain, conquered by praise, fame, and renown, and then, they will think that we abide in those dharmas, we possess those dharmas, we are the ones who have exhausted defilements here, we are the ones who are without defilements here. They will fully understand themselves as being wise, those people will become children, will become those with examining behavior, the behavior of those living in villages will also become different, and the behavior of those living in monasteries will also become different.

It will change. Those who live in the monastery will also become different. Those who live in the Sangha will also become different. All the actions of body and speech will also become unprotected. It will also become acting in samsara. It will also generate the idea that one has no afflictions. Now, those who have the profound Dharma categories spoken by the Hearers, who have solitude, who have emptiness, like that, after hearing those, they will also listen respectfully with reverence and respect to those Dharmas, and listen, and keep their minds close without distraction. At that time, the behavior and circumstances of such foolish people will also become contemptuous, and they will also become ridiculed, and they will also become insulted, and they will say: This is not the Buddha's teaching, it is not the teacher's doctrine. They will reject each other. Why is that? Because this does not match Dharma and Dharma, Vinaya and Vinaya. Those who think it is not Dharma will say that it is not Dharma to Dharma. They will say that what is not Dharma is Dharma. They will say that what is not Vinaya is Vinaya. Sharadvati's son, if that is the case, those people will speak praises that do not match the Dharma they are about to obtain, and those people will praise themselves and belittle others. Only discipline, only living in a monastery, only meditation, only abiding, only hearing, only much hearing, only Sangha, only praise, only verses, only gain and respect, only fame and, only under the control of the arrogance of good reputation, conquered by the arrogance of "I am". When those who speak truthfully speak truthfully, no matter how those Dharma categories are heard, more excellent merits will appear. However, those foolish people do not think like this: We always have those unwholesome deeds. Those people are mostly controlled by arrogance and because of ignorance.
