What are they made of? There are trees made of red pearls. Those trees also bear flowers, such as Atimuktaka flowers, Champaka flowers, Varashaka flowers, Dhanuskari flowers, Ashoka flowers, Naga flowers, Bala flowers, Tarani flowers, Gotarani flowers, Mandarava flowers, five-colored flowers, Chandrotarani flowers, and various other kinds of flowers. Each of those gardens has seven thousand ponds, all filled with water possessing eight qualities, measuring half a yojana, made of seven precious materials, covered with golden sand, and having four staircases. All those ponds are covered with nets of precious stones, filled with উৎপལ་ flowers, lotuses, water lilies, and white lotuses. At that time, there appeared a king named Dpa's Byin (Gift of Courage). In the eighty-four thousand cities of King Dpa's Byin, the son of Sharadvati, there were eighty-four thousand households, and each household had eighty-four thousand female attendants in the retinue of the queen. In that Jambudvipa, in the center of those eighty-four thousand cities, there was a great city, eighty thousand yojanas long and forty thousand yojanas wide, made of seven precious materials, prosperous, flourishing, peaceful, bountiful, delightful, and filled with many people, which should be described as before. At that time, in the center of that great city, the palace of King Dpa's Byin was built, made of seven precious materials, ten yojanas in all directions. In that palace, there were also pillars made of gold and various kinds of pavilions. In the center of that palace, a palace was built like the supreme palace of Indra, the lord of the gods, called "Dharma." The pleasure garden of that king was called "Good Dharma," and in the center of that palace, there was also a garden. That garden also had flower trees made of seven precious materials.

and, fragrant tree groves, tree groves that produce musical sounds, ornamental tree groves, and clothing tree groves, each adorned with various kinds of things. That garden was also made into a peacock feather pattern. That house also had stables built on all four sides, adorned with platforms, places for viewing all around, and windows, and each was adorned with beautiful and pleasing multi-storied houses made of the seven precious substances. At that time, the virtuous and noble queen of King Dapa, gave birth to a Bodhisattva, a son who was more excellent than previous kings, beautiful, pleasing, powerful, possessing authority, renowned, and blazing with glory and splendor. As soon as he was born, King Dapa gave him that great city, saying that it would become his enjoyment. At that time, all four million daughters who were born during the day were also chosen by King Dapa to be the prince's enjoyment. The king, the mother of beings, Jewel Mother, the citizens, and the people of the countryside, all named him "Supreme Merit." The reason for this naming is that when Sharadvati's son, Prince Supreme Merit, was born, the gods in the sky sang loudly, showered down celestial sandalwood powder and celestial Mandarava flower rain, and repeatedly praised with celestial songs: "This child's birth is Supreme Merit! This child's birth is Supreme Merit!". Sharadvati's son, therefore, that child was named only Supreme Merit. Sharadvati's son, Prince Supreme Merit, grew up and was attended by a retinue of consorts, went to the garden, boarded a sandalwood boat, and enjoyed and reveled in the five sensual pleasures without men. At that time, Prince Supreme Merit, having boarded the sandalwood boat, saw the body of the Tathagata emitting flames, gold, the moon, and the golden color of the Jambu River, radiating hundreds of billions of rays of light.

Having the body of a Buddha, adorned with the thirty-two major marks of a great being, shining like gold, decorated like jewels, he saw him teaching the Dharma in the midst of the assembly of Shravakas. Having seen him, the king's son, the young Sonam Chok, thought to himself: 'May I also become like him.' Then, the king's son Sonam Chok generated such a mind. Immediately, the body of the Tathagata disappeared. After it disappeared, the king's son Sonam Chok immediately felt pain and discomfort. He no longer played with the women, no longer rejoiced, no longer indulged in pleasure, and no longer relied on those women. He came out of the boat, entered the multi-storied house, sat in the lotus position, and thought: 'When will I become like the Tathagata?' Thus, he began to meditate. Then, whichever women came to that king's son, he saw them all from afar. The king's son closed the doors and thought: 'Alas, these beings are filled with desire and tormented by great sicknesses. If I were to associate with those beings who are filled with desire and tormented by great sicknesses, that would be unreasonable, because I am rational, and that would not be part of my conduct. These beings are filled with hatred and tormented by the disease of great sickness. If I were to be agreeable to those beings who are filled with hatred and utterly tormented by the disease of great sickness, that would be unreasonable, because I am rational. What difference would there be then? I should strive to accomplish such a body. Alas, I should discipline my own mind and not generate harmful thoughts towards those beings. Alas, these beings are filled with ignorance and tormented by the disease of great sickness. If I were to follow those beings who are tormented by the disease of great sickness, that would be unreasonable, because I...'
