Do you want to play? If you want to enjoy pleasure, let those consorts who have a fondness for singing, dancing, and music serve him. At that time, he heard the sounds of impermanence, suffering, and selflessness. At that time, he became weary of the enjoyment of desirable qualities, and with a mind free from attachment, a mind of fear, and a mind of sorrow, he went to where the Tathagata, the Subduer by Supreme Power, was. Having arrived, he bowed his head at the feet of the Blessed One and sat to one side. The Blessed One spoke to the one who had come about the roots of virtue from the past. Having heard this, he thought to himself: The Tathagata possesses such unobstructed wisdom and vision, that even though so much time has passed, the Blessed One remembers the roots of virtue, but I know nothing of them. For example, for such a Buddha, a Blessed One, defiled by the filth of desirable qualities, defiled by the filth of kingship, defiled by power, I have done roots of virtue but do not know it, and even though I have not fully dedicated them to enlightenment, whatever roots of virtue I now definitely engage in, may they be fully dedicated for the sake of all sentient beings! Wherever I am born separately, wherever I am born, and wherever I go to any Buddha-field, may I utter sounds to those sentient beings, clearly expressing their respective languages! May they all hear the sounds of impermanence, suffering, and selflessness! In those world realms, whatever grasses and forests there are, even those that are only four fingers in size, may the sounds of impermanence, suffering, and selflessness arise from them! May all sentient beings hear those sounds! May all these roots of virtue of the assembly be shared with all sentient beings for the sake of attaining such great vehicle, which is like the supreme wisdom of the Tathagata, the Subduer by Supreme Power. Thus spoke King Manifest.

Burning with the power of radiance, having recognized this, he rose from his seat and sat before that Blessed One, and spoke thus: "Blessed One, wherever I reign over the Lord of Power, when victorious, whatever possessions I have, all of them are offered for the sake of the enjoyment of the noble Sangha, including the Buddha. Having offered, the king, blazing with the power of the proclaimed fame of the Wheel-Turning King, went forth from home to homelessness. Recognizing that he had gone forth, the fourfold army of that king also followed and went forth. Recognizing that they had gone forth, forty million from the retinue of the king's consorts went forth. Recognizing that they had gone forth, the townspeople and villagers also followed and went forth. In short, eighty million followed Sharadvati's son and went forth. As soon as they had gone forth in this way, they took up diligence and persevered. Because they were diligently seeking virtuous Dharma, they soon developed the five superknowledges. With their own superknowledges, the power of their miraculous abilities, their very bodies, and that very birth, in the eastern direction, in Buddhafields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, they requested the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges: 'Blessed One, please teach the Dharma! Sugata, please teach the Dharma!' Thus they urged and prayed for the turning of the Wheel of Dharma. Similarly, in the southern direction, the western direction, the northern direction, the upper direction, and similarly in the lower direction, and similarly in all directions, in Buddhafields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, they requested the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, as numerous as the sands of the Ganges: 'Blessed One, please teach the Dharma! Sugata, please teach the Dharma!' Thus they urged and prayed for the turning of the Wheel of Dharma. From then on, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, blazing with the power of proclaimed fame, was never born in an impure Buddhafield, nor did he ever take birth in a womb. To whatever Buddhafield he went, in that Buddhafield, or on a branch,

Whether leaves, trees, or forests, all those things that exist emit sounds of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. The beings in those realms also utter their own sounds at that time, hearing each other's sounds, hearing the sounds of impermanence, suffering, and selflessness. Sharadvatiputra, at that time, the lion king who was subdued by the Tathagata with great power, having heard the roots of virtue from the previous assembly, went forth from home to homelessness. That root of virtue was also shared with all beings, completely dedicated to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, and the one who obtained the body also obtained the superknowledges individually. By generating the power of samadhi, he also went to worlds as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River in the east. He urged and requested the Buddha Bhagavan, who was dwelling in the essence of the Bodhi tree, to turn the wheel of Dharma for beings as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River. Similarly, going to all ten directions, do you think that the blazing power of the proclaimed Chakravartin king is someone else? Sharadvatiputra, you should not look at it that way. Sharadvatiputra, this is the Bodhisattva who turns the wheel of Dharma as soon as he generates the mind of enlightenment. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, as soon as he generated the mind of enlightenment, turned the wheel of Dharma, went to the great city of Rajagriha, went to the Light Garden where the Kalanda birds dwell, went to where the Bhagavan was, and after arriving, bowed his head to the feet of the Bhagavan and sat to one side. Sitting to one side, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, who had just generated the mind of enlightenment and turned the wheel of Dharma, said this to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, does the Tathagata's sound of no characteristics cause little discomfort to the Bhagavan? Is there little fatigue? Is movement easy? Does he abide in strength and the touch of ease? Thus inquiring about his health. Bhagavan,
