That departed Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha, how is it, may I become like that, thus it is said. Those who desire the wisdom of the Buddha, I also give, also give alms, also make merit. Having perfectly taken and abided in the precepts, for those also to attain the Tathagata's wisdom, I completely aspire. Manjushri, for example, on that great ground of the nature of great beryl, the image of Indra, the lord of gods, that appears, it does not move, does not think, does not rejoice, does not discriminate, does not make various discriminations, without discrimination, without various discriminations, without thought, without attention, having become peaceful and cool, without birth, without cessation, without seeing, without hearing, without smelling, without tasting, without touching, without signs, without consciousness, not to be conscious of. Similarly, Manjushri, the Tathagata, Arhat, perfectly enlightened Buddha, also does not move, does not think, does not rejoice, does not discriminate, does not make various discriminations, without discrimination, without various discriminations, without thought, without attention, having become peaceful and cool, without birth, without cessation, without seeing, without hearing, without smelling, without tasting, without touching, without signs, without consciousness, not to be conscious of. Manjushri, although the Tathagata is the state of no birth, yet in the world it appears like an image, and by the distinction of seeing according to the inclinations of sentient beings, it also shows the distinction of life. By completely maturing and generating the power of faith, for sentient beings who have become vessels of enlightenment, an image also appears. Sentient beings, according to their thoughts and inclinations, also hear the Dharma. According to their thoughts, they also understand the three vehicles. According to their thoughts, they also attain liberation. Manjushri, for example, the great Dharma drum accomplished by the power of merit of the gods of the Thirty-three,

A thing called "the sound of," resides in the space above the Khangzang Nampar Gyalje (a celestial palace). It completely transcends the sight of all the sons of the gods. Although it is invisible and cannot be seen, Manjushri, when the gods of the Thirty-Three Realms are always indulging in the pleasures, games, joys, and enjoyments of the gods, and repeatedly enter the celestial assembly hall, the Good Dharma Hall, but do not engage in proper discussions; Manjushri, when Indra, the lord of the gods, is also always indulging in the pleasures, games, joys, and enjoyments of the gods, and repeatedly enters the celestial assembly hall, the Good Dharma Hall, and sits on the Dharma seat but does not speak the Dharma, at that time, the Dharma drum, which resides in the space, completely transcends sight, and is invisible and cannot be seen, will emit such a Dharma sound. That Dharma sound will say to all the gods of the Thirty-Three Realms: Friends, form, sound, smell, taste, and touch are all impermanent, do not be heedless! You will quickly die and be reborn from here! Friends, all conditioned things are suffering! Friends, all conditioned things are empty! Friends, all conditioned things are without self! Friends, after dying from here, it is difficult to be born here again, so do not be heedless, friends, engage in proper discussions of the Dharma! Be joyful with the joy of the Dharma! Cherish the Dharma, be devoted to the Dharma, abide in mindfulness of the Dharma! And do not be separated from the pleasures, games, joys, and enjoyments of the gods! That is how the sound makes them understand. Manjushri, at that time, that invisible, formless, without discrimination, without false discrimination, completely transcending sight, unborn, unceasing, completely transcending words, separated from mind, intellect, and consciousness, such a Dharma drum, its sound will be towards the thirty-three

By truly exhorting all the gods of the third realm, they become frightened, terrified, sorrowful, and disgusted, and then enter into the Good Dharma Hall of the assembly of gods, dwelling happily in the joy of the Dharma. They also dwell in cherishing the Dharma, engaging in the Dharma, and keeping the Dharma in mind. It is also known that they will pass away from there and go to a more excellent place. At that time, Indra, the lord of the gods, also enters into the Good Dharma Hall of the assembly of gods, sits on the Dharma throne, and teaches the Dharma. Manjushri, when the Asuras engage in battle with the gods, and when the gods of the Thirty-Three are defeated, the great Dharma drum emits such a sound that the Asuras become frightened, terrified, sorrowful, and disgusted, and flee. Manjushri, this great Dharma drum has no maker and no physical form whatsoever. Manjushri, this great Dharma drum is invisible, unattainable, non-existent, unborn, inconceivable, mindless, signless, non-corporeal, soundless, without substance, non-dual, and has completely transcended the realm of the eye. However, Manjushri, for those sons of the gods of the Thirty-Three who have previously been thoroughly purified, the great Dharma drum emits such a sound, pacifying all the harm, strife, and afflictions of the sons of the gods of the Thirty-Three. Manjushri, how is it that the great Dharma drum is invisible, unattainable, non-existent, unborn, inconceivable, mindless, signless, non-corporeal, soundless, without substance, non-dual, and has completely transcended the realm of the eye? However, Manjushri, for those sons of the gods of the Thirty-Three who have previously been thoroughly purified, the great Dharma drum emits such a sound, and in order to pacify all the harm, strife, and afflictions of the sons of the gods of the Thirty-Three, it emits a sound.
