That is the individual discernment of the unconditioned. Manjushri, enlightenment is the nature of being without outflows and the nature of being without grasping. Manjushri, what is the nature of being without outflows, and what is the nature of being without grasping? Manjushri, the so-called nature of being without outflows is being separated from the four outflows. What are these four? They are the outflow of desire, the outflow of existence, the outflow of ignorance, and the outflow of views, being separated from these four outflows. The so-called nature of being without grasping is being separated from the four graspings. What are these four? They are the grasping of desire, the grasping of views, the grasping of ethics and asceticism as supreme, and the grasping of self-assertion, being separated from these four graspings. Manjushri, sentient beings are blinded by ignorance and stirred up by craving, therefore they grasp each other with attachment. The Tathagata fully knows that the grasping of self-assertion is the root, and realizes the complete purity of all sentient beings through the complete purity of self. What is the complete purity of self? What is the complete purity of all sentient beings? These two are non-dual and inseparable. What is the meaning of non-duality? It is unborn and unceasing. Manjushri, mind, intellect, and consciousness do not engage with the unborn and unceasing. Manjushri, for those in whom mind, intellect, and consciousness do not engage, there is no conceptualization that arises through inappropriate attention. Those who diligently apply appropriate attention do not generate ignorance. What is the non-arising of ignorance? It is the non-arising of the twelve links of dependent origination. What is the non-arising of the twelve links of dependent origination? It is unborn. What is unborn? It is without fault. What is without fault? It is the definitive meaning. What is the definitive meaning? It is the ultimate meaning. What is the ultimate meaning? It is the meaning of no-self. What is the meaning of no-self? It is the inexpressible.

It is so. What is the meaning of the unutterable? It is the meaning of dependent origination. What is the meaning of dependent origination? It is the meaning of Dharma. What is the meaning of Dharma? It is the meaning of the Tathagata. Therefore, whoever sees dependent origination sees the Dharma. Whoever sees the Dharma sees the Tathagata. It is said that one sees in the same way as one sees nothing when searching completely. Manjushri, what is that "nothing"? For example, mind and object. When one does not completely see mind and object, then one truly sees. The Tathagata thus perfectly and completely awakened to these Dharmas equally with equality. Manjushri, Bodhi is pure, immaculate, and without affliction. Manjushri, what is that purity? What is that immaculateness? What is that freedom from affliction? Manjushri, emptiness is purity. Signlessness is immaculateness. Wishlessness is freedom from affliction. Unbornness is purity. Unfabricatedness is immaculateness. Non-arising is freedom from affliction. Self-nature is purity. Complete purity is immaculateness. Luminosity is freedom from affliction. Non-elaboration is purity. Freedom from elaboration is immaculateness. Quiescence of elaboration is freedom from affliction. Suchness is purity. The realm of Dharma is immaculateness. The limit of reality is freedom from affliction. Space is purity. The intermediate space is immaculateness. Space is freedom from affliction. Inner knowing is purity. Non-wandering externally is immaculateness. Absence of inner and outer objects is freedom from affliction. Knowing the aggregates is purity. The elements' lack of self-nature is immaculateness. Abandoning the sense bases is freedom from affliction. Knowing the past as exhausted is purity. Knowing the future as unborn is immaculateness. Knowing the present arising as the Dharma abiding is freedom from affliction. Manjushri, thus purity, immaculateness, and freedom from affliction are also in one place.

Becoming pure, just like this, in a state of peace. What is peace? It is supreme peace. What is supreme peace? It is near peace. What is near peace? It is that which has become near peace. What is that which has become near peace? It is called the Muni. Manjushri, thus, just as space is, so is enlightenment. Just as enlightenment is, so are all dharmas. Just as all dharmas are, so are all sentient beings. Just as all sentient beings are, so are all fields. Just as all fields are, so is nirvana. Manjushri, therefore, all dharmas are said to be equal to nirvana, because they have reached the ultimate, therefore there is no antidote. Because there is no antidote, therefore it is pure from the beginning, without stain from the beginning, and without affliction from the beginning. Manjushri, in this, the Tathagata thus manifestly and completely awakens to all dharmas, and when he observes the realm of sentient beings, great compassion arises for sentient beings, which is called playing with purity, without stain, and without affliction. Manjushri, how does a Bodhisattva practice the conduct of a Bodhisattva? Answer: Manjushri, when a Bodhisattva does not become arrogant because of exhaustion, nor because of non-exhaustion; nor because of birth, nor because of non-birth; nor does he make efforts to exhaust what is completely exhausted, nor does he disturb what is never born, if he practices in this way, Manjushri, the Bodhisattva is practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva. Manjushri, furthermore, a Bodhisattva does not practice with the past mind as exhausted, nor does he practice with the future mind as not attained, nor does he practice with the present mind as existing, and he does not become attached to the past, future, and present minds, if he practices in this way, Manjushri, the Bodhisattva is practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva. Manjushri, furthermore, a Bodhisattva does not differentiate between generosity, enlightenment, sentient beings, and the Tathagata, if he practices in this way of non-duality, then he practices the conduct of a Bodhisattva.
