Mañjuśrī, for example, space is without location, unconditioned, unborn, unceasing, and inexpressible. Mañjuśrī, likewise, enlightenment is also without location, unconditioned, unborn, unceasing, and inexpressible. Mañjuśrī, for example, when truly and completely sought, all dharmas are inexpressible, similarly, Mañjuśrī, when truly and completely seeking enlightenment, all dharmas are also inexpressible. Why is that? Mañjuśrī, because truly, words are unborn and unceasing, therefore they are non-existent. Mañjuśrī, enlightenment is without grasping and without location. Mañjuśrī, what is without grasping, and what is without location? Mañjuśrī, the complete knowledge of the eye is without grasping. Form without an object is without location. The complete knowledge of the ear is without grasping. Sound without an object is without location. The complete knowledge of the nose is without grasping. Smell without an object is without location. The complete knowledge of the tongue is without grasping. Taste without an object is without location. The complete knowledge of the body is without grasping. Touch without an object is without location. The complete knowledge of the mind is without grasping. Dharmas without an object are without location. The Tathāgata thus awakened to complete perfect enlightenment in that which is without grasping and without location. Having awakened to complete perfect enlightenment, because the eye is without grasping and form is without an object, he does not abide in the consciousness of the eye. Because the ear is without grasping and sound is without an object, he does not abide in the consciousness of the ear. Because the nose is without grasping and smell is without an object, he does not abide in the consciousness of the nose. Because the tongue is without grasping and taste is without an object, he does not abide in the consciousness of the tongue. Because the body is without grasping and touch is without an object, he does not abide in the consciousness of the body. Because the mind is without grasping and dharmas

Because they do not abide in omniscience, therefore, the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One is counted as possessing non-abiding in omniscience. Mañjuśrī, these four are the abodes of the minds of sentient beings. What are the four? They are: Form is the abode of the minds of sentient beings. Mañjuśrī, similarly, feeling, perception, and formations are the abodes of the minds of sentient beings. Mañjuśrī, the Tathāgata knows that these four abodes of the minds of sentient beings are unborn and unceasing. Mañjuśrī, the term "bodhi" is a synonym for emptiness. Mañjuśrī, by the emptiness of bodhi attained through emptiness, all phenomena are also empty. Mañjuśrī, the Tathāgata has truly awakened to how they are empty. Mañjuśrī, it is not that emptiness awakens to emptiness. Mañjuśrī, for example, emptiness or bodhi is a single mode of knowing. Mañjuśrī, for those who have neither emptiness nor bodhi, Mañjuśrī, for such ones, by what can the duality of emptiness and bodhi be distinguished? There is not even a little. Why is that? Mañjuśrī, all phenomena are non-dual, without characteristics, indivisible, without names, without signs, free from mind, intellect, and consciousness, unborn, unceasing, without going, without activity, without arising, without letters, without sound. End of the Third Chapter. Mañjuśrī, what is called emptiness is a synonym for non-manifestation of attachment and non-grasping. Mañjuśrī, for such emptiness, ultimately, there is no phenomenon that can be designated as empty. Mañjuśrī, for example, although one says space, space, space is not something that can be spoken of. Mañjuśrī, similarly, although one says emptiness, emptiness, emptiness is not something that can be spoken of; such is the entry of all phenomena. Mañjuśrī, all phenomena are without names, but they are expressed by names. Mañjuśrī, names are

It does not reside in a place, nor does it reside in a direction. Manjushri, how is it that name does not reside in a place, nor does it reside in a direction? Likewise, the dharma by which a name expresses a certain dharma also does not reside in a place, nor does it reside in a direction. Manjushri, the Tathagata knows all those dharmas as unoriginated, unproduced, unceasing, without characteristics, separate from mind, intellect, and consciousness, without letters, and without sound from the very beginning. Manjushri, just as it is known, in that very way it is liberated, but it is not liberated from bondage. Manjushri, enlightenment is equal to space, but space is not equal, nor is it unequal, and enlightenment is also not equal, nor is it unequal. Why is that? Manjushri, that which does not truly accomplish anything in any dharma cannot be spoken of as equal or unequal. Manjushri, the Tathagata thus manifestly and completely awakened to all dharmas as without equality and without inequality. Just as he did not make even the slightest dharma equal or unequal, so he manifestly and completely awakened, and with true knowledge, he knows those dharmas exactly as they are. Manjushri, what is true knowledge? Manjushri, all dharmas are without root, unborn, unceasing, and arise from non-arising, and having arisen, they also perish. Manjushri, those also arise without an owner and without grasping, and it is known that they perish without an owner and without grasping. Manjushri, although the dharmas enter based on such arising and perishing, there is nothing that enters here, because the continuum of the path is cut off. Therefore, the Tathagata is called a teacher of the Dharma. Manjushri, what is called enlightenment is the state of suchness. Manjushri, what is the state of suchness in that? Manjushri, what is called the state of suchness is enlightenment. Just as enlightenment is suchness, form also does not deviate from suchness. Just as enlightenment is suchness, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness also do not deviate from suchness. Just as enlightenment is suchness,
