Form, not truly seen in its wake, is the very nature of having no object. The consciousness of the ear, the object is the very nature of having no sign. Sound, not heard, is the very nature of having no object. The non-perception of the consciousness of the nose is the very nature of having no sign. Smell, not smelled, is the very nature of having no object. The non-perception of the consciousness of the tongue is the very nature of having no sign. Taste, not tasted, is the very nature of having no object. The non-perception of the consciousness of the body is the very nature of having no sign. Touch, not touched, is the very nature of having no object. The non-perception of the consciousness of the mind is the very nature of having no sign. Dharmas, all dharmas not to be known are the very nature of having no object. Manjushri, that is the realm of activity of the noble ones. Manjushri, whatever is not the realm of activity of the three realms, that is the realm of activity of the noble ones. Manjushri, enlightenment is not past, not future, not present, it is the equality of the three times, the complete cessation of the three wheels. Manjushri, what is the complete cessation of the three wheels? Not entering the mind into the past, not flowing the consciousness into the future, and whatever is not arising the attention in the present, that is, not abiding in mind, intellect and consciousness, and not conceptualizing, not discriminating. Not conceptualizing, not discriminating, means not attending to the past, not being conceited about the future, and not scattering in the present. Manjushri, enlightenment is the very nature of being without a body, and the very nature of being unconditioned. Manjushri, the very nature of being without a body is whatever is not to be known by the consciousness of the eye, and whatever is not to be known by the consciousness of the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Manjushri, whatever is not to be known by mind, intellect, and consciousness, that itself is the very nature of being unconditioned. The so-called unconditioned nature is that which has no birth, no abiding, and no destruction. That is the unconditioned, completely purified of the three wheels. Just as the unconditioned is, so too is the conditioned.

One should realize it as such. What is the reason for that? Manjushri, whatever is the essence of all dharmas, that is without essence. Whatever is without essence, that is non-dual. Manjushri, enlightenment is the basis of non-differentiation. What is non-differentiation? What is the basis? Namelessness is non-differentiation. Suchness is the basis. Absence of location is non-differentiation. The realm of dharma is the basis. Absence of difference is non-differentiation. The ultimate reality is the basis. Absence of focus is non-differentiation. Immovability is the basis. Emptiness is non-differentiation. Absence of characteristics is the basis. Absence of conceptualization is non-differentiation. Absence of aspiration is the basis. Absence of action is non-differentiation. Absence of sentient beings is the basis. The absence of inherent existence of sentient beings is non-differentiation. Space is the basis. Absence of object is non-differentiation. Absence of arising is the basis. Absence of cessation is non-differentiation. The unconditioned is the basis. Absence of activity is non-differentiation. Enlightenment is the basis. Nirvana is non-differentiation. Nirvana is the basis. Absence of manifestation is non-differentiation. Absence of birth is the basis. Manjushri, enlightenment is not fully awakened by the body, nor by the mind. What is the reason for that? Manjushri, the body is inanimate, unmoving, and without thought, like grass, walls, trees, clods, and images. The mind is like an illusion, because it is accumulated, dissipated, untrue, and unconditioned. Manjushri, whoever understands body and mind in this way is called enlightenment. Manjushri, that is also based on terminology, but not in the ultimate sense. What is the reason for that? Manjushri, enlightenment cannot be expressed by body, mind, dharma, non-dharma, truth, untruth, truth, and falsehood. Manjushri, enlightenment cannot be expressed by all dharmas. What is the reason for that? Manjushri, there is not even a place in enlightenment where words and terms can be applied.
