He fully knows purity as it is. Furthermore, when asked about the Tathagata's knowledge of arising, the answer is given from the perspective of kalpas, extensively explained, even up to enjoyment. The arising, cessation, and path are also as explained. Householder, how does the Tathagata truly know the past limit? Householder, in this case, the Tathagata knows the past kalpas. Whatever kalpa is named, by what causes is it named, and how does that kalpa abide truly? For example, this auspicious kalpa is named the kalpa of seeing a thousand lotuses. Likewise, he fully knows the distinctions of those kalpas. He also fully knows the names of those Buddhas, the Bhagavat. For example, here, from the Shakya clan, the Able One is born, and is named Shakyamuni. Likewise, the Tathagata fully knows those kalpas and the names of those Buddhas. The Tathagata also fully knows the names of all sentient beings there. Furthermore, when asked about the Tathagata's knowledge of the past limit, the answer is given from the perspective of kalpas, even up to enjoyment. The arising, cessation, and path are also as explained. Householder, how does the Tathagata truly know the past places? Householder, in this case, the Tathagata fully knows incalculable incalculable kalpas. Where I have long dwelled, and from there, to what past place I have returned and dwelled. Whether a sentient being is in hell, or in the birthplace of animals, or in the realm of Yama, or as a human, or as a god, or as a hungry ghost, or as a lion, or as a tiger, or as a leopard, or as a sky-goer, or as a flock of birds, or as a group of poisonous snakes, or as a group of snakes, or as a group of rakshasa women, or as a land-goer, or as a space-goer, or as footless, or as two-footed, or as four-footed, or as many-footed.

Thus, whatever has been accomplished, namely, skillful means, craftsmanship, and the wisdom of meditative absorption, all of those are well known. Except for the wisdom of the exhaustion of defilements, there is no craft or craft-wisdom, work or work-wisdom that the Tathagata has not previously generated, nor is there anything that has not been previously accumulated. Therefore, whoever's wisdom sees and enters without obstruction here, that one will enjoy this sandalwood courtyard and the space between the pavilions. The arising, cessation, and path are also as taught. Householder, how does the Tathagata know the future limit, knowing it as it truly is? Householder, here the Tathagata knows well the names of the Buddhas and sentient beings of future kalpas. The Tathagata knows well all the causes and conditions by which the names of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, and those sentient beings will be established. When the Tathagata, who knows the future limit, is asked about it, from answering about the kalpas onwards, it will be combined in that way up to the point of enjoyment. The arising, cessation, and path are also as taught. Householder, how does the Tathagata know death, knowing it as it truly is? Householder, here the Tathagata knows well in this way: whatever sentient beings are born and will die, death and, the transference of death and, causing death and, killing and, dying and, the destruction of aggregates and, abandoning the body and, the complete severing of the life force and, separating those who are in harmony with the realm, the Tathagata knows as it truly is. These sentient beings will die before their lifespan is complete. These sentient beings will die from the harm of others. These sentient beings will die from abandoning fear. These sentient beings will die from not abandoning fear. These sentient beings will die from the change of seasons. These sentient beings will die from the exhaustion of merit. Thus, the Tathagata knows death well, knowing it as it truly is.
