In Sanskrit: Ārya-niṣṭhita-nāma-bhagavad-jñāna-vaipulya-sūtra-ratna-ananta-nāma-mahāyāna-sūtra. In Tibetan: The noble, blessed one's sutra of extensive wisdom, the precious, infinite, and ultimate, called the Great Vehicle Sutra. Volume 1. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus I have heard, at one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. He was together with a great community of monks, a monastic community of one thousand two hundred and fifty monks. At that time, in the great city called Gone Beyond Goodness, a householder named Diviner, for the sake of the Blessed One alone, focusing solely on the Blessed One, and solely for the Blessed One's sake, had the Venerable Ganga as the craftsman, and built a sandalwood mansion with a cloister, and it was completed without delay. Then the householder Diviner said this to the Venerable Ganga: Ganga, this sandalwood mansion with a cloister was built for the sake of the Blessed One alone, focusing solely on the Blessed One, and was built for the Blessed One's sake. Who else will enjoy this sandalwood mansion with a cloister? How can this generosity of mine become fruitful, how can this effort of mine become meaningful, and how can this generosity of mine be enjoyed, so that giving and enjoying this will become very joyful, extremely joyful, and increasingly joyful? After saying this, the craftsman, the Venerable Ganga, said this to the householder Diviner: Householder, this sandalwood mansion with a cloister was built for the sake of the Blessed One alone, focusing solely on the Blessed One, and was built for the Blessed One's sake, any shramana or brahmin can enjoy it.

There is not. Why is that? Householder, the Tathāgata's alms bowl, or Dharma robe, or mat, or bedding, or monastery, or promenade, or bed, or temple, those are the objects of offering for the world with gods, with demons, with Brahmā, with ascetics and Brahmins, with gods and humans. That is something that no one else can enjoy. Why is that? Because there is no ascetic or Brahmin who possesses such qualities. There is no ascetic or Brahmin who possesses such qualities as the Blessed One, the Tathāgata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha. Thus, the Blessed One, the Tathāgata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, possesses immeasurable qualities. Householder, the Blessed One possesses countless qualities, possesses inconceivable qualities, possesses immeasurable qualities, possesses incalculable qualities, possesses qualities that cannot be expressed. Householder, the Blessed One possesses immeasurable knowledge, possesses countless knowledge, possesses inconceivable knowledge, possesses immeasurable knowledge, possesses incalculable knowledge, possesses knowledge that cannot be expressed. Householder, the Tathāgata knows the possible as it is, knows the arising of the possible as it is, knows the cessation of the possible as it is, knows the path leading to the cessation of the possible as it is.
