The land is beautiful. We are all transformed into attendants by Brahma. They are neither good-looking nor beautiful, nor are they pleasing to the eye. Some of these worlds are permanent, and some are impermanent. This is the third view that considers only permanence. It is like this at that time, and not like this at that time, because other sentient beings have exhausted their lifespan, exhausted their karma, and exhausted their merit. After dying from the Brahma world, they come to this realm, corresponding to people and ascetic practices, following perfection, obtaining such samadhi, just as the mind dwells in equanimity, previously I greatly remembered my own nature and was happy, obtaining such samadhi. This Brahma is the great Brahma, the independent one, the creator, the lord, the hearer, the father of past and future dharmas, he is the permanent, steadfast, true, and unchanging nature of dharma, Brahma transformed us into attendants. We are not permanent, not steadfast, not true, short-lived, and have the nature of death. Some of these worlds are permanent, and some are impermanent. This is the fourth view that considers only permanence. There is such a situation, if some śramaṇas or brahmins follow effort, follow practice, obtain such samadhi of mind, just as the mind dwells in equanimity, thereby truly knowing that there is a boundary to myself and the world. He thinks like this: the boundary of myself and the world exists, this is the truth, the others are all ignorance, this is the first kind of extreme view. There is such a situation, if some śramaṇas or brahmins practice as before, just as the mind dwells in equanimity, thereby truly knowing that there is no boundary to myself and the world. He thinks like this: there is no boundary to myself and the world, this is the truth, the others are all ignorance, this is the second kind of extreme view. There is such a situation, if some śramaṇas or brahmins practice as before, just as the mind dwells in equanimity, when his consciousness dwells in the world, his consciousness is not higher. He thinks like this: myself and

The edge of the world, it is also existent, and it is also non-existent, this is the truth. Others think it is ignorance, this is seeing it as having an edge and not having an edge. This place exists. If some ascetics or Brahmins combine in that way, how the mind dwells in equanimity, and exists in the world, being neither with perception nor without perception. They think like this: I and the world are neither with an edge nor without an edge, this is the truth, the others are false. This is seeing it as neither with an edge nor without an edge. Furthermore, here some are those who are confused in words and those who are confused by others. Entering into confusion of words and confusion by others is, if asked whether there is a self, they answer, this is not, that is not, this is not, this is not not either, thus confusion of words and confusion by others enters. If asked whether there is no self, they answer, this is also not the same, that is also not, this is both existent and non-existent, thus confusion of words and confusion by others enters. If asked about the view of self and the world, they answer, that is also not like this, this is also not like this, that is also like that, this is also not different, this is not, thus confusion of words and confusion by others enters. This is the fourth kind of confusion of words. This place exists. If some ascetics or Brahmins follow after effort, they dwell in equanimity of mind, and remember the nature of their former self. They think like this: I and the world arose from no cause. Why is that? Because I did not arise here before, but now I arise here, therefore I and the world arose from no cause, this is the truth, the others are false. This is the first kind of seeing as arising from no cause. Furthermore, here some ascetics or Brahmins are speculators and examiners, they are those who are pervasively afflicted by speculation, holders of their own views, holders of their own pride, those who examine following examination, they say this: I and the world arose from no cause, this is the truth, the others are false. This is the second kind of saying arising from no cause. These eighteen are the investigation of the limits of the past.
