When following the observation of the destruction of all phenomena, he thinks thus: Is there any dharma that does not arise and does not cease? He thinks thus: Whatever dharma is manifestly assembled, it will not be destroyed, and for what is not manifestly assembled, there is no destruction. When he thus individually discerns what is truly as it is, for all phenomena that are not manifestly assembled, he enters into the samadhi called 'manifestly delighted,' which is like a vajra. Having thoroughly dwelt in that vajra-like samadhi, whatever arises in the continuum of the mind, he individually discerns and thoroughly discerns that in the continuum of the mind itself. All phenomena arise by the power of the mind, all phenomena cease by the power of the mind, and according to how the mind thinks, all phenomena show their form. The mind brings forth all phenomena. The mind causes all phenomena to cease. He thinks thus: From where does the power of this mind arise? He thinks thus: The mind is formless and cannot be shown; when it arises, it does not know itself, and when it ceases, it also does not know itself. This mind does not produce mind, and mind does not stop mind; this mind is the very nature of mind. This formless dharma is the nature of dharma; the cessation of mind, which is not to be known by discrimination, arises and thoroughly enters the continuum of the mind. When any mind ceases, the continuum of the mind thoroughly enters in a similar way. When the mind of hatred ceases, it thoroughly enters the continuum of the mind in a similar way. When the mind of delusion ceases, it thoroughly enters the continuum of the mind in a similar way, and attachment or hatred is established in the continuum of the mind. When he generates a mind that is knowing and fully endowed, at that time he fully knows all three continuums of the mind. For example, when someone is searching for a vessel in the dark, if he blows on a sesame oil lamp, he sees that vessel by that light, and he also sees other vessels besides that one. Similarly, if the mind completely entangled by the desire of craving ceases, and a mind that is knowing and fully endowed arises, then he fully knows all those continuums of the mind. If

If the mind completely entangled by hatred ceases, and a mind endowed with wisdom and excellence arises, then one fully understands all those continuities of mind. If the mind completely entangled by delusion ceases, and a mind endowed with wisdom and excellence arises, then one fully understands all those continuities of mind. If one fully understands in that way, one does not see the appearance of the afflicted mind. The mind by which one sees that mind as endowed with excellence is also not perceived. Why is that? Because, due to ignorance and pride itself, the mind's own nature of mind has separated. If there is no nature of dharma whatsoever, it will not arise. Whatever does not arise, does not cease. Whatever does not arise and does not cease cannot be directly known, cannot be fully known, cannot be abandoned, cannot be cultivated, cannot be directly realized. Whatever its present state is, the past is also the same. Whatever the past state is, the future is also the same. It cannot be directly known, cannot be fully known, cannot be abandoned, cannot be cultivated, cannot be directly realized. For this equality of the three times, foolish ordinary beings are universally deluded, seeking enlightenment from the isolated aggregates, thinking that enlightenment is not other than the aggregates. Then, he rises from that samadhi and shows those natures to sentient beings. Whoever learns, those who learn will follow him. Whatever was attained by the previous Buddhas, the Bhagavat, without addition, without subtraction, without attainment, without destruction, but if one fully understands the true nature of dharma as it is, then his birth is also nirvana, non-birth is also nirvana, cessation is also nirvana, non-cessation is also nirvana, things are also nirvana, non-things are also nirvana. When he taught the Dharma in that way, countless sentient beings obtained tolerance of the Dharma of non-birth. Maudgalyayana, what do you think? At that time, at that time, if you think that the king, the truthful speaker, who was called the wise one skilled in knowing death and knowing cessation, was someone else, you should not view it that way. Why is that? Because, at that time, at that time, I was the king, the truthful speaker.
