It is finished. Whoever understands the unobstructed Dharma, knows the realm of activity of all Buddhas. Having entered the realm of activity of the Buddhas of the past, one knows the Dharmas of all Dharma Kings. All these Dharmas are like the sky; there is no such thing as Dharma-nature to be known. Within Dharma-nature, one realizes what has no Dharma-nature. All these Dharmas are unchanging and non-dual. Even the sky has no diverse Dharmas; like the sky, there is no obscuration whatsoever. The Victorious One has not taught the Dharma of Nirvana, nor has the Victorious One spoken of the Dharma of abiding. All Victorious Ones speak of the non-dual Dharma; whoever is unwise and practices various Dharmas, that one is bound by the noose of Mara and sleeps. By understanding Dharma-nature, there is no Dharma whatsoever. In Dharma, there is neither ignorance nor wisdom. Whoever knows my Dharma-nature as Dharma, that non-dual one will attain Dharma-nature. Whoever is unwise and practices various Dharmas, those ones are practicing in the realm of activity of Mara. Whoever speaks of the non-dual Dharma, without duality, those guides are like fathers, they are sons of the Buddha. Nothing has been seen, and nothing has been heard. People practice various Dharmas, but they do not realize the Bodhi of the Victorious One. Thus, the Victorious One does not speak of two paths; whoever is in two Dharmas, that one does not practice. Whoever understands Dharma in one way, does not go astray, but goes to the Bodhi of the Buddha. That person will practice in the place where the Buddha dwells. Maudgalyayana's son, what do you think? At that time, at that moment, the one called King Dangsrong Kyewa Tsolwa, whoever hears sounds from another and obtains forbearance in the Dharma of non-arising, if you think that he is someone else, you should not see it that way, for I am that King Dangsrong Kyewa Tsolwa at that time, at that moment. By that root of virtue, when I arise in a Buddha-field for eighty kotis of years, I am the Tathagata. There has never been such a thought. Maudgalyayana's son, therefore, sons or daughters of good family who desire to fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment, whether or not they encounter a Buddha, should practice yoga in order to fully understand and realize the profound Dharma. Maudgalyayana's son, I know samadhi.

For the purpose of knowing the origin of all things, various roots of virtue are manifestly assembled. Maudgalyayana's son, from the past, from the time that has passed, on the far shore of that, and even beyond, there was a Tathagata named Renowned Proclaimer, endowed with knowledge and conduct, appearing in the world from then until the Buddha, the Bhagavan. Maudgalyayana's son, that Tathagata Renowned Proclaimer had two assemblies of hearers. One assembly of hearers was an assembly of seventy-seven kotis of hearers. The second assembly of hearers was one hundred thousand kotis of hearers, all of whom were Arhats, with defilements exhausted, without afflictions, having become masters, having reached the supreme other shore of all minds. At that time, in that Buddha-field, a useless tree arose. At that time, in that Buddha-field, there was a bhikshu who was well-established in the Great Vehicle, like this, named 'Thinking about all objects,' who generated roots of virtue before immeasurable, countless kotis of Buddhas, but for a while, he did not enter into the mind of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. He was well-established in the unsurpassed Great Vehicle and desired to purify unspeakable and again unspeakable Buddha-fields. At that time, except for that bhikshu alone being born among the long-lived gods, there was no sentient being who had not generated the seed of enlightenment. Then, when the Tathagata Renowned Proclaimer was performing the deeds of a Buddha, he observed, 'In all Buddha-fields, why is it that I have not benefited sentient beings except for that one sentient being?' Although he saw that his root of virtue had become a vessel for unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, he obtained an unfavorable condition. Therefore, I do not have the fortune to generate the root of virtue of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Then, after dying, he fell into the great hell of sentient beings, the Avici hell. He stayed there for a kalpa. There also, he did not have the fortune to generate the root of virtue of unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Then, after dying,

Having been born as a human from that, being foolish, blind, mute, and gesturing, he did not have the power to know all the teachings. There, the emanations of the Thus-Gone One made him fully ripen, and when his emanation made him fully ripen, the Thus-Gone One was saddened for sixty kotis of nayutas of hundreds of thousands of lifetimes. Maudgalyayana's son, look at how much great compassion the Thus-Gone One showed to one sentient being, yet became saddened. The Thus-Gone One did not strive to fully ripen that person and firmly establish him in the state of non-retrogression. Maudgalyayana's son, look at how any person who has accumulated non-merit has saddened the Thus-Gone One for that long. Maudgalyayana's son, therefore, a Bodhisattva who wishes to make the Thus-Gone Ones rejoice should make himself into a vessel. He should not make the Thus-Gone One sad, but should make himself into a vessel. A son or daughter of good family who is well established in the Great Vehicle, if he is protected by the Thus-Gone One, should make himself into a vessel. Maudgalyayana's son, if you think that the Bodhisattva who at that time was not a vessel of Dharma and was born among the long-lived gods was someone else, do not look at it that way. The nectar light of the Thus-Gone One, at that time, was not a vessel for the Bodhisattva, and having despised the Dharma, he fell into error. Maudgalyayana's son, what do you think? If at that time you think that the Thus-Gone One who made that sentient being fully ripened was someone else, do not look at it that way, for that is the Thus-Gone One Who Accomplishes All Purposes. At that time, even if he remained for countless eons for the purpose of fully ripening that sentient being, he did not strive to make that sentient being fully ripened. Maudgalyayana's son, therefore, a son or daughter of good family who is well established in the Bodhisattva Vehicle, in order to make the Thus-Gone One rejoice, should make himself into a vessel, and should not make the Thus-Gone Ones sad.
