If the earth does not have the cause of arising from viewing, the three realms will not burn. Sister, for example, a fire that burns for a thousand years has no arising and diminishing. Sister, similarly, the afflictions that wander through hundreds of thousands of kalpas have no arising and diminishing. Sister, for example, when a fire is extinguished, it is not called fire. Sister, similarly, when afflictions are pacified, they are not called afflictions. Sister, for example, no matter where a fire burns, the sky cannot be burned by that fire. Sister, similarly, for one who is naturally luminous, even if sudden afflictions arise, that naturally luminous one cannot be completely afflicted by those sudden afflictions. Sister, How then should one view the body of form? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, like the moon in the water within a mirage. Manjushri said: Girl, how should one view the aggregates? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, like an emanation of the Thus-Gone One. Manjushri said: Girl, how should one view the elements? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, like the three realms being burned by the fire of the end of an eon. Manjushri said: Girl, how should one view the sense bases? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, like the work of manifestation not being manifested. Manjushri said: Girl, how should one view this retinue? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, this retinue is like the boundary of the sky above. Manjushri said: Girl, how should one view you? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, like my father and mother not having intercourse. Manjushri said: Girl, how should one view me? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, like a blind person viewing forms. Manjushri said: Girl, have you heard these teachings? The girl said: Manjushri, for example, I have heard them like the consciousness of an illusory ear. Manjushri said: Girl, do you desire unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment? The girl said: Manjushri, I myself am enlightenment.

Eh. I don't want to ask for it anymore. Manjushri asked: Girl, have you practiced the perfection of generosity? The girl replied: Manjushri, I have completely abandoned all afflictions, so I have practiced it. Manjushri asked: Girl, have you perfected the perfection of morality? The girl replied: Manjushri, it is as perfect as the sky, so it is perfect. Manjushri asked: Girl, have you meditated on the perfection of patience? The girl replied: Manjushri, All sentient beings are unborn and without origin, so I have meditated on it. Manjushri asked: Girl, have you worked hard on the perfection of diligence? The girl replied: Manjushri, I have worked hard in the way that there is nothing to be obtained in all dharmas. Manjushri asked: Girl, do you abide in the perfection of meditation? The girl replied: Manjushri, I abide in the way that there is no abiding in the realm of dharma. Manjushri asked: Girl, have you perfected the perfection of wisdom? The girl replied: Manjushri, I have perfected it without any increase or decrease. Manjushri asked: Girl, have you meditated on loving-kindness? The girl replied: Manjushri, I have meditated on it in the way that all sentient beings cannot exist. Manjushri asked: Girl, where should a Bodhisattva seek great compassion? The girl replied: Manjushri, a Bodhisattva should seek great compassion from the afflictions of all sentient beings. Why is that? If the afflictions of sentient beings no longer exist, then the Bodhisattva will not generate the mind to attain the unexcelled perfect enlightenment. Manjushri asked: Girl, where should a Bodhisattva seek joy? The girl replied: From the mind of enlightenment that is endowed with superior intention. Manjushri asked: Girl, what is the equanimity of a Bodhisattva? The girl replied: Manjushri, the equanimity of a Bodhisattva is not deceiving all sentient beings Perfectly performing etc.

Approaching and acting without contradicting all dharmas. Manjushri asked: Daughter, what is meant by 'contradiction'? The daughter replied: Those who diligently enter into Bodhi in order to abandon non-existent afflictions. Manjushri asked: What do they contradict? The daughter replied: They contradict all opponents. Manjushri asked: Daughter, who are the opponents? The daughter replied: Those who attack others with the pride of patience. Manjushri asked: Daughter, where does patience come from? The daughter replied: Manjushri, it comes from the harm done by all sentient beings. Why is that? Because if there is no harm, there is no patience at all. Manjushri, when all sentient beings inflict harm on someone, and they do not become angry and do not cause harm, that is the practice of patience. Manjushri asked: Daughter, what is anger? The daughter replied: Manjushri, anger harms the roots of virtue accumulated over hundreds of kalpas. Manjushri asked: Daughter, what is non-anger? The daughter replied: Manjushri, having no jealousy in the mind and not harming any objects, that is to be known as patience. Manjushri asked: Daughter, how does a Bodhisattva conquer the battlefield? The daughter replied: Manjushri, one who distinguishes all dharmas but does not fixate on them. Manjushri asked: Daughter, how does a Bodhisattva defeat demons and opponents? The daughter replied: One who subdues all demons but has no afflictions. Why is that? Manjushri, although a Bodhisattva shows the aggregates, he does not dwell with the afflictions of the aggregates. Manjushri, although a Bodhisattva shows afflictions, he is not attached by nature or dharma-nature. Manjushri, in order to ripen all sentient beings, although a Bodhisattva shows aging and death, he thoroughly understands that in all dharmas there is no death, transference, or going. Manjushri, a Bodhisattva is
