When he was not found, they gathered together and wailed like female Kurara birds. Then, some of the women were exhausted with grief, some cried out, "Alas, my son!", some cried out, "Alas, my husband!", some cried out, "Alas, my family!", some cried out, "My lord!", some spoke various words of sorrow, some beat their bodies and wept, some disheveled their hair, some looked at each other's faces and wept, some rolled their eyes and wept, some slapped their hands on their thighs and wept, some beat their chests and wept, some slapped their hands on their shoulders and wept, some beat their heads and wept. Some scattered dirt on their heads and wept, some tore their hair and wept, some pulled out their hair and wept, some raised their hands and cried out in lamentation. Some, like a female mountain deer struck by a poisoned arrow, suddenly ran and wept, some covered their faces with cloth and wept, some swayed their bodies like a water tree moved by the wind, some fell to the ground and were almost dead, some rolled on the ground and wept like a fish taken out of water, some suddenly fell to the ground and wept like a tree uprooted from its roots. The king heard that sound and said to the Shakyas, "Why is this great sound heard in the queen's palace?" The Shakyas, knowing, said, "Great king, the young man is not in the queen's palace." The king said, "Quickly close all the gates of the city and search for the young man inside!" They searched inside and outside but did not find him, and प्रजावतीमहागौतमी (藏文,梵文天城體,Prajāvatīmahāgautamī,Prajāvatīmahāgautamī,Great प्रजावतीमहागौतमी) Great Gautamī (藏文,梵文天城體,Gautamī,Gautamī,喬答彌) uttered lamentations, rolled on the ground, and said to King Śuddhodana, "Great king, please quickly return my son to me." Then the king sent mounted messengers in four directions, saying, "Do not return until you have found the young man today!" The soothsayers and diviners also prophesied, "The Bodhisattva will appear from the auspicious gate." As they went to the auspicious gate, they saw a rain of flowers falling on the way.

Oh! Then they thought, 'The young man came from this road.' Thinking this, they went forward a little. Seeing the son of the gods, the Bodhisattva, carrying the Kashika garments on his head, they thought, 'These are the young man's Kashika garments, did this person kill the young man for these garments and then take them?' Then, they saw the attendant coming with the praised horse and ornaments. Then they said to each other, 'Hey, the attendant is coming with the praised horse, don't act rashly until you ask him.' Having said this, they asked the attendant, 'Hey, attendant, did this person kill the young man for these Kashika garments?' The attendant said, 'It is not so, this person also offered the young man the kasaya robes, and the young man gave these Kashika garments to this person.' Then, that son of the gods, in order to honor them, held those garments on his head with both hands, and from there went to the world of the gods.' They again asked the attendant, 'What do you think? Can we persuade the young Shakya to return?' He said, 'No. The young man is steadfast in diligence and asceticism, he said, 'Until I have attained the unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment, I will not enter the great city of Kapilavastu.' He said this, so he will not return, and what the young man has said will surely come to pass.' Why is that? Because the young man is steadfast in diligence and asceticism, so he will not return.' Then, the attendant took the praised horse and ornaments and went into the residence of the consorts. After some time, those ornaments, which were worn by the young Shakya, Good Virtue, Great Name, the Non-regressing, and those worn by the sons of Thirstless, Great Firm and Half-Firm, they could not lift. When those things could not be lifted by anyone, the great प्रजावती Gautami thought, 'As long as I see these ornaments'
