Offerings of rain cushions. Offer butter to the victorious Salaraja, offer milk to the blossoming flowers. Offer the Kunda flower of the renowned benefactor, offer food to the one who sees the truth. Bow down to the wisdom mountain, offer clothes to the one given by the Nagas. Offer a handful of salt to the supremely ascended, the excellent sandalwood, and the radiant one. Offer lotuses to the great splendor, offer jewels to the victorious rays. Offer a handful of gold to Shakyamuni, praise the crown of power. Offer flower earrings to the face of the sun, a golden diadem to the good intellect. Offer jewels to the one who subdues the power of the Nagas, offer a silk-stitched cushion to the victorious one. Offer a jewel umbrella to the king of medicine, offer a throne to the lion's crest. Offer a jewel net to the one with excellent qualities, all songs to the light-protected one. Offer excellent incense and flowers, always offer flowers to the radiant crest. Offer a mansion to the unmoving victor, offer garlands to the world's worship. Offer Chinese incense, scriptures, and royal power, offer all incense to the joyful victor. Offer myself to the great lamp, offer all ornaments to the excellent lotus. Offer various flowers to the crown of dharma, offer utpala flowers to the maker of lamps. When making various and diverse offerings, you and those sentient beings, as well as others previously offered to, remember and offer to the past Buddhas and teachers. Sentient beings, without protectors, filled with sorrow, appear without abandoning. Just by seeing the lamp maker, you will obtain supreme patience. You will obtain the five subsequent corresponding superknowledges, without decline. Then, with great joy, in countless eons and world realms, you will make inconceivable offerings to each and every Buddha. Those immeasurable eons will be exhausted, and those Buddhas will pass into nirvana. Where have all your bodies and their names gone? All things have the nature of ultimately being exhausted, conditioned things are impermanent. Desires, royal power, and enjoyments are not eternal, so they come from the excellent city. When the eon comes to an end, like a fierce and blazing fire of terror, unbearable great fears such as old age, sickness, and death will come. All things have the nature of ultimately being exhausted, conditioned things are impermanent. Look at the extremely suffering sentient beings, endowed with qualities.

Manifested. The king lay in a comfortable bed, and as the assembly of female musicians played various beautiful melodies with lutes and other instruments, these verses arose from the sweet sounds: In the three realms, the suffering of old age and disease blazes like a fire, the fire of death burns fiercely, and beings are without protection. Beings arise from karma, yet are always deluded, revolving endlessly like bees trapped in a jar. The three realms are unstable, like autumn clouds, the birth and death of beings is like watching a dance. The life of beings passes like lightning in the sky, flowing swiftly like a waterfall cascading down a steep mountain. Beings, under the power of attachment to existence and ignorance, ignorantly wander in the three paths of humans, gods, and hells, and in the five realms of existence, like a potter turning a wheel. People are always attached to beautiful forms, pleasant sounds, fragrant smells, excellent tastes, and comfortable sensations. These beings are caught in evil snares, like monkeys caught in a hunter's trap. The enjoyment of desires brings much suffering and harm, is full of fear, always brings enmity and affliction, like a sharp sword, and like the leaves of a poisonous tree, the noble ones should abandon it like vomit. The enjoyment of desires is full of fear and affliction, always causing forgetfulness, like darkness. It always causes the root of fear, is the root of suffering, and causes the creeper of attachment to existence to grow. Like a burning pit full of danger, the wise should see desire in this way. It is like a great mud pit, and like a slaughterhouse of swords, like honey smeared on a sword's edge. Like a snake's head and a container full of vomit, the wise should see desire in this way. Like bird meat, plums, and bright wood, tasting it is like being at enmity like a dog. These enjoyments of desires are like the moon in water, like illusions and echoes, and like eye diseases and watching dances, like dreams, the noble ones should see it in this way. The enjoyment of desires is momentary and fleeting, like magic and mirages, full of deception. Like bubbles and foam, they are not real, the wise understand that everything arises from imputation. In youth, when one possesses a beautiful form, clinging to these pitiable desires is the behavior of children. When old age and disease destroy the splendor of the body, bringing suffering, then one will completely abandon them.
