That which arises as sound without subduing them is of discipline. That which perfects the incomplete faculties and obtains the most radiant light is of patience. That which emits infinite rays of light is of diligence. That which emanates eighty-four thousand Buddhas in the outer and inner parts of the vast realm is of meditation. That which teaches the Dharma to the eight retinues at the appropriate time is of wisdom. These are the six perfections of manifold play. Among these, what are the six perfections that are difficult to fathom? That which cannot be measured in conduct is of generosity. That which is difficult to approach for the Buddha, the Bhagavan, is of discipline. That which does not waste the mind and suppresses others when grasped, such as subduing yakshas, elephants protecting wealth, and taming venomous snakes, and thus bestowing fearlessness. That which is like speaking with words is of patience. That which the great son Maudgalyayana could not subdue in radiance, and when returning, the water in the bowl filled in the garden of Prince Jeta, is of diligence. Shariputra said: After four thoughts arise, they vanish. He said: That which is immeasurable is of meditation. For example, when the Tathagata performed deeds in the middle of the night, even if lightning struck, he subdued the unbelievers of the city. Tomorrow I will explain the Dharma of the six superknowledges. This refers to wisdom. These are the six perfections that are difficult to fathom. Among these, what are the six sets of the eighteen unshared Dharmas of the Buddha? Among these, what are the six perfections without clamor? That which is widely proclaimed in this way is of generosity. That which shows the three aspects of manifesting light is of discipline. That which has no harmful intent towards other beings is of patience. That which fulfills desires as intended is of diligence. That which tastes honey is of meditation. That which proclaims separation from attachment and anger is of wisdom. These
