This is the perfection of generosity of the ground. The patience that focuses on sentient beings is the perfection of patience of the ground. The diligence that has conceptualization is the perfection of diligence of the ground. The meditation that enters into self is the perfection of meditation of the ground. Discriminating the peaceful and non-peaceful dharmas with understanding, and being completely entangled, is the perfection of wisdom of the ground. These are the six perfections of the ground. Then, what are the six perfections of enlightenment? For the sake of enlightenment, the generosity that has patience and is fully endowed with the dharma of non-arising is the perfection of generosity. The discipline that does not focus on body and mind is the perfection of discipline. The patience that is in accordance with the way things are for all dharmas is the perfection of patience. The diligence that abides without focusing on body and mind is the perfection of diligence. The mind that is endowed with the equality of dharmas is the perfection of meditation. The complete knowledge of all dharmas as they are is the perfection of wisdom. These are the six perfections that are completely dedicated to enlightenment. Then, what are the six perfections of wisdom? That which is distinguished by skillful means in order to continuously ripen sentient beings is the perfection of generosity of wisdom. How to do five hundred verses, and completely abandoning all ninety-six kinds of strange things, distinguishing by abandoning suffering, and distinguishing by not abandoning the correct view, and accomplishing happiness, is the perfection of discipline of wisdom. Enduring suffering in the manner of wisdom, and distinguishing by not slandering desire and causing others to mature, is the perfection of patience of wisdom. Just as the wish-fulfilling jewel of the horse king, taking suffering upon oneself, and benefiting oneself and others with diligence.

Abiding for the sake of sickness and happiness, like this, making five hundred merchants liberated, and like this, the lion, the king of the wild animals in the mountains, making the merchants liberated, that is the prajna-virya-paramita. Samadhi also arises, the formless also arises, the Dharma of the Hearers also arises, but whatever does not necessarily arise by these, that is the prajna-dhyana-paramita. With wisdom, for the sake of such Dharma, like this, great medicine, and like this, for the sake of Bodhi, completely abandoning the ten non-virtuous deeds that wander everywhere, which is not present in any sentient being, that is the prajna-prajna-paramita. Then, what are the six paramitas that benefit me? Whatever is completely dedicated to achieving great enjoyment for oneself, that is the generosity-paramita that benefits oneself. Whatever discipline accomplishes birth in the happy realms of gods and humans, that is the discipline-paramita that benefits oneself. Obtaining the ripening of patience, obtaining beauty and extremely increasing color, and becoming powerful and famous, that is the patience-paramita that benefits oneself. For the sake of Bodhi, acting without relying on others, and examining with one's own diligence, that is the diligence-paramita that benefits oneself. Generating samadhi, not coming to this world between the seven kalpas of destruction and formation, that is the dhyana-paramita that benefits oneself. Not looking at the faces of others, and the actions of body, speech, and mind all follow the truth, that is the prajna-paramita that benefits oneself. These are the six paramitas that benefit oneself. Then, what are the six paramitas of attainment? The ripening of generosity, obtaining great enjoyment, and completely dedicating it for the sake of Bodhi, that is the generosity-paramita of attainment. For the sake of obtaining great benefit, there is no complete affliction in the mind, and for the sake of Bodhi

Whatever is completely dedicated is the perfection of discipline of attainment. Whatever does not harm others for the sake of enlightenment and does not become a complete abandonment of the holy Dharma is the perfection of patience of attainment. Whatever is constant, immeasurable diligence is the perfection of diligence of attainment. Whatever is the samadhi that manifestly accomplishes all actions is the perfection of meditation of attainment. Whatever realizes the equality of all dharmas is the perfection of wisdom of attainment. These are the six perfections of attainment. Then, what are the six perfections of hope? The giving that arises from an object, completely dedicated for the sake of enlightenment, is the perfection of giving of hope. The discipline of body and speech that has an object, which matures and is joined for the sake of enlightenment, is the perfection of discipline of hope. Seeing things as they are, accepting after examining the dharmas separately, is the perfection of patience of hope. Diligently applying oneself to this and that dharma with unindicated wisdom, and subduing others, is the perfection of diligence of hope. After the perfection of meditation has been purified, not clinging to the sign of abandonment, is the perfection of meditation of hope, which generates intention. In order to understand the unindicated, will the perfection of wisdom reach its peak? Will it not reach it? How long will it take to reach it? Who will reach it? Whatever one thinks like this is the perfection of wisdom of hope. These are the six perfections of hope. Then, what are the six perfections of the three aspects of observation? Not interrupting the means of conditioned activity, and giving the fruit of unconditioned activity, is the perfection of giving of the three aspects of observation. Whatever discipline enters the path is the perfection of discipline of the three aspects of observation. The inner and outer dharmas are impermanent, suffering, and without self.
