That which is equal to me is called non-differentiation of sentient beings. How does one not differentiate in terms of Dharma? One does not generate the thought that one should give to those who speak the Dharma and not give to those who do not speak the Dharma. Having attained the equality of all Dharmas, one gives. One does not give thinking that ordinary beings are inferior, nor does one give thinking that noble beings are great. Because the realm of Dharma is equal by nature and without differentiation, one gives. This is called not differentiating in terms of Dharma. How does one not differentiate in terms of dedication? One does not dedicate the root of virtue from giving to attaining Indra, nor to attaining Brahma. One does not desire the position of king, merchant, householder, form, enjoyment, power, or servants. One does not dedicate that root of virtue in all the places of transmigration and birth of all beings in existence. Not for the Hearer Vehicle, not for the Solitary Realizer Vehicle. One does not dedicate those roots of virtue to anything other than the Unsurpassed Perfect and Complete Enlightenment. This is called not differentiating in terms of dedication. How does one not differentiate in intention when giving? With equal intention, equal action, not expecting fruition, not expecting a return for what one has done for others, with a mind free from deceit and without alteration, giving completely from the depths of one's heart, with a mind free from regret, having attained faith in the three places, thinking, "I give," giving, and having attained great faith after giving. This is called not differentiating in intention. Son of good family, thus, when a Bodhisattva gives, he does not make these four differentiations. This is the first step of the complete purification of the Perfection of Giving of the Bodhisattvas. Furthermore, one gives with the purification of eight views. What are those eight? They are as follows: One gives with the complete purification of the view of self. Likewise, with the view of sentient being, the view of life, the view of person, the view of annihilation, the view of permanence, the view of arising, and the view of destruction completely
