Furthermore, what is Right Livelihood? It is the livelihood that does not involve all afflictions; this is called Right Livelihood. The Right Livelihood of a Bodhisattva is that which causes the livelihood of all sentient beings to become completely pure; one neither clings too much to that completely pure livelihood, nor does one completely not cling to it. Through that livelihood, one's own benefit, the benefit of others, and the benefit of the Dharma are all completely fulfilled; son of good family, this is the Right Livelihood of a Bodhisattva. Son of good family, what is the Right Effort of a Bodhisattva? It is to manifest those virtuous and profound Dharmas through properly holding the mind with correct intention, as well as with aspiration, diligence, joy, action, non-retreat, and true perseverance, in order to truly accomplish them; this is called Right Effort. Moreover, Right Effort is to strive equally, and not unequally. How does one strive equally, and not unequally? It is that one neither makes Dharmas equal nor unequal, neither acts nor discriminates. One strives according to how the Dharma-nature and the abiding of those Dharmas are. One strives according to how the true Dharma-nature of those Dharmas is. One strives according to how the equality and non-differentiation of those Dharmas are. That Right Effort is also to completely incline towards omniscience in order to abandon the wrong effort of all sentient beings. Son of good family, this is the Right Effort of a Bodhisattva. Son of good family, what is the Right Mindfulness of a Bodhisattva? It is the mindfulness of the Bodhicitta, the mindfulness of generosity, the mindfulness of ethics, the mindfulness of patience, the mindfulness of diligence, the mindfulness of meditation, the mindfulness of wisdom, and the mindfulness of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity; this is called Right Mindfulness. Son of good family, furthermore, the Right Mindfulness of a Bodhisattva is the Right Mindfulness with which one does not desire the state of all afflictions, the Right Mindfulness with which one does not discriminate the state of all demonic actions, the Right Mindfulness with which one does not fall into wrong paths and evil paths, and the door of Mindfulness.
