arises. Because of possessing the wisdom of completely knowing the outflows of existence, and in order to accumulate roots of virtue, one consciously and completely grasps existence. In order to eradicate the outflows of ignorance and the outflows of views from their roots, the bodhisattva engages in yoga. Contemplating the body in the body and cultivating mindfulness, one individually understands that the body has not arisen from the beginning. One individually understands that the body does not transmigrate to the end. One individually understands that the body, when it arises now, is also empty of inherent nature. Thus, abiding in contemplating the body, one does not generate the view of the aggregates associated with the body. Because of being separated from the view of the aggregates, one does not take it as self. Because of having no self, one does not completely grasp onto grasping. Because of having no grasping, one attains freedom from strife. Because of abandoning strife, there is no harmful intent. Because of having no harmful intent, one attains patience. Because of attaining patience, one neither becomes arrogant nor humble. Because of not becoming arrogant or humble, one abides in the nature of reality. Because of abiding in the nature of reality, one no longer engages in non-dharma. Engaging in dharma, one enters the path that accords with dharma. Entering the path of dharma, one finds virtuous friends who accord with dharma. Because of completely relying on virtuous friends who accord with dharma, one hears teachings that accord with dharma. Because of having heard the dharma, one is no longer subject to outflows towards objects. Guarding the objects, one accomplishes samadhi. Because of equipoise, one thoroughly knows things as they are. Because of thoroughly knowing things as they are, one no longer conceptualizes. One does not conceptualize. Because of conceptualization, one does not change. Because of not changing, one no longer acts. One does not act. When one does not act and does not conceptualize, then by the equality of dharma, having obtained the dharma as it is, and having thoroughly obtained the wisdom of omniscience, this, son of lineage, is the completely pure conduct of the bodhisattva's mindfulness of contemplating the body in the body. Son of lineage, what is the completely pure conduct of the bodhisattva's mindfulness of contemplating feelings in feelings?

Now, son of good family, if this Bodhisattva cultivates the mindfulness of closely observing feelings in feelings, he will develop great compassion for sentient beings who dwell happily in feelings. He teaches thus: 'Whatever is without feeling, that is happiness.' Therefore, in order to abandon the feelings of all sentient beings, he cultivates the mindfulness of closely observing feelings in feelings. In order to stop the feelings of sentient beings, even when wearing armor, he does not do so to stop his own feelings. Whatever feeling he experiences, he accepts and experiences all those feelings with great compassion. When he experiences a pleasant feeling, he develops great compassion for sentient beings who indulge in desire, and he completely abandons his own habitual tendencies of desire. When he experiences a painful feeling, he develops great compassion for sentient beings who indulge in hatred, and he completely abandons his own habitual tendencies of hatred. When he experiences a feeling that is neither pleasant nor painful, he develops great compassion for sentient beings who indulge in delusion, and he completely abandons his own habitual tendencies of delusion. He does not become attached to pleasant feelings, and he also completely destroys attachment. He does not become angry at painful feelings, and he also completely destroys anger. He does not become associated with ignorance towards feelings that are neither painful nor pleasant, and he also completely destroys ignorance. Therefore, whatever feeling he experiences, he knows and experiences that all those feelings are impermanent. He knows and experiences them as suffering. He knows and experiences them as selfless. He knows that pleasant feelings are impermanent. He knows that painful feelings are like arrows. He knows that feelings that are neither painful nor pleasant are peaceful. Thus, whatever is pleasant is impermanent. Whatever is painful is suffering itself. Whatever is neither pleasant nor painful is selfless. Son of good family, the Bodhisattva thus dwells observing feelings in feelings.
