It is acting falsely as it is. It is acting falsely to receive alms without eliminating attachment to food. It is acting falsely to carry a duster without following shame and embarrassment. It is acting falsely to live at the foot of a mountain or under a tree without following dependent origination. It is acting falsely to seek medicine that has been discarded with respect instead of seeking the medicine of the nectar of Dharma. This is called the hypocrisy of the body. What is the hypocrisy of speech? So-and-so knows me, and so-and-so invited me as a guest. I got what I wanted, and I got it because I was respected. I got good things. I got it many times. I heard a lot. I am disciplined and have virtuous qualities. I am a trustworthy person. I am a person worthy of a reply. I am capable, fortunate, powerful, and mighty. I am skilled in explaining the definite meaning. So-and-so said this to me. I said this to him, and then I defeated him and made him without pride. I made the retinue happy. I got the evaluation of "good". I got benefits from there. In order to be invited again in the future, I strive to be invited. Kashyapa, all such false words that arise from a mind with untrue thoughts are the hypocrisy of speech. This is the behavior of unreasonable people, not the behavior of reasonable people. This is called the hypocrisy of speech. Kashyapa, what is the hypocrisy of the mind? Whatever the mind fully desires robes and alms, the mouth says that I don't need anything. The mind wants to get it, but the mouth says that desires are few, this is called the hypocrisy of the mind. It is said like this: The mind thinks that it doesn't matter what you get, but the mouth says that I don't need anything. Speaking these with a false intention will never lead to happiness. With the thought of hypocrisy of the mind, one deceives the gods, nagas, and those with divine eyes. With a false mind, one will never be pure. All the Tathagatas

Know that. Light Guardian, like that, bhikkhus who are associated with what is not the Dharma, who are sinful, who engage in inappropriate conduct, any such action will cause sentient beings to go to hell, the animal realm, and the realm of Yama. This is the second chapter on bhikkhus. Light Guardian, what is a bhikkhu like a candala? Light Guardian, for example, a candala always has a cemetery as his domain, hoping for the dead, looking at beings with uncompassionate eyes, and rejoicing in the dead. Light Guardian, similarly, a bhikkhu like a candala always wanders in the homes of friends and the homes of those who give alms, and then lives near with gain and respect, not allowing those householders to properly uphold the Dharma or the Vinaya, becoming acquainted for the sake of gain, not for the sake of meaning, without a friendly heart, and always hoping for gain. Light Guardian, this is called a bhikkhu like a candala. Light Guardian, for example, a candala should always be completely abandoned by merchants, householders, ministers, kings of the region, brahmins, royalty, townspeople, and villagers, abandoned even more distantly than being far from the candala by lineage. Light Guardian, similarly, a samana like a candala should also be completely abandoned by bhikkhus, bhikkhunis, upasakas, and upasikas who possess morality and qualities, for a samana like a candala, if it is known that he universally practices sinful dharmas and has broken his vows, then he should be abandoned even more distantly than from afar. Light Guardian, for example, the mouth-wiping cloth, clothes, or anything used by a candala, all those things, noble people do not touch or use. Light Guardian, similarly, the alms bowl, Dharma robes, or anything used by a samana like a candala, all those are obtained through improper livelihood, obtained through harming body and mind, therefore those who possess morality and qualities do not touch or use them. Light Guardian.

For example, a pariah takes a rag and goes to another's house in a shrinking manner. Similarly, a monastic pariah also bows to the Tathagata's stupa in a shrinking manner. He enters the assembly in a shrinking manner. He goes to temples, dwellings, and other people's houses in a shrinking manner. He walks, sits, and sleeps in a shrinking manner. O Light Protector, in this way, shrinking and concealing sins, all those behaviors arise entirely from what is inappropriate. O Light Protector, it is like this: for example, the mind of a pariah does not abide in the birth of a happy realm. Why is that? It is because of the faults of each one's actions. O Light Protector, similarly, the mind of a monastic pariah does not abide for the sake of going to a happy realm, and his future world is completely destroyed. Now, there is no obstruction to abiding in the three lower realms. O Light Protector, this is called a monastic pariah. O Light Protector, what is a corrupt monastic? O Light Protector, it is like this: for example, the residue of the best-tasting drink suitable for a king, after the best essence has been extracted, is rotten and unclean, and should not be tasted. O Light Protector, similarly, a corrupt monastic is also devoid of the taste of the essence of the best Dharma. He has a foul odor and is worthy of being completely abandoned. He possesses the unpleasant odor of defilements, deceit, and immoral discipline, and is devoid of the fragrance of discipline. He is tainted by the odor of defilements. Wherever he goes, he engages for his own benefit, not for the benefit of others. O Light Protector, this is called a corrupt monastic. O Light Protector, it is like this: for example, what is called rotten is what has been eaten, drunk, or adorned, which is rotten and smelly, and all noble people should completely abandon it. O Light Protector, similarly, a corrupt monastic is like what has been tainted. Because the actions of body, speech, and mind are completely impure, they are completely...
