Kāśyapa, look at this. For example, if the branches of a tree are cut off, it will grow again from the ground if the roots are not damaged. Kāśyapa, similarly, if a Bodhisattva is skilled in means, even if the branches of afflictions are cut off, he will still be born in the three realms if the root of great compassion and virtue is not lost and is always connected. Therefore, it is said like this: For example, if the branches of a tree are cut off, it will grow again if the roots are strong and not damaged. Similarly, if the connection to the root is not abandoned, it will grow again even if it is removed by means. Kāśyapa, look at this. For example, when a mass of water from great rivers from different directions and regions flows into the great ocean, it becomes one taste of salt. Kāśyapa, similarly, all the roots of virtue accumulated by Bodhisattvas from different doors, if completely dedicated to enlightenment, will also become one taste of omniscience. Therefore, it is said like this: For example, the rivers from different directions, when they flow into the great ocean, become one taste. The virtues accumulated from different doors, if dedicated to enlightenment, will also become one taste. Kāśyapa, look at this. For example, the retinues of the four great kings and the gods of the thirty-three realms reside on Mount Meru. Kāśyapa, similarly, the omniscience of Bodhisattvas also resides on the root of virtue of the mind of enlightenment. Therefore, it is said like this: For example, the retinues of the four great kings and the assembly of the thirty-three gods reside on Mount Meru. Similarly, Bodhisattvas abide in virtue, and after attaining omniscience, they also teach the Dharma. Kāśyapa, look at this. For example, kings who are fully supported by ministers perform all the actions of kings. Kāśyapa, similarly, the wisdom of Bodhisattvas who are fully supported by skillful means also performs all the deeds of the Buddhas. Therefore, it is said like this: For example, kings who have ministers always perform all actions. Similarly, the wisdom of Bodhisattvas who possess skillful means always performs the deeds of the Buddhas. Kāśyapa, look at this. For example, in a cloudless and clear sky, there is no cause for rain to fall. Kāśyapa, similarly, Bodhisattvas who have little learning

For me, there is no cause for the rain of the sacred Dharma to fall. In that regard, it is said: For example, in a cloudless, clear sky, the cause for rain is never found. Likewise, a Bodhisattva with little learning is never found to teach the Dharma. O Sustainer of the Light, just as the stream of rain that comes from a great cloud manifestly falls upon all crops. O Sustainer of the Light, likewise, the rain of the sacred Dharma that comes from the great compassion of the Bodhisattva and the cloud of the Dharma of much learning also manifestly falls upon all sentient beings. In that regard, it is said: For example, a great cloud accompanied by lightning, when rain falls, it satisfies the crops. Likewise, the Bodhisattva, from the cloud of the sacred Dharma, the stream of Dharma that arises satisfies sentient beings. O Sustainer of the Light, just as wherever a wheel-turning monarch appears, there also arise the seven precious jewels. O Sustainer of the Light, likewise, wherever a Bodhisattva appears, there also arise the thirty-three dharmas of the aspects of enlightenment. In that regard, it is said: Wherever a wheel-turning monarch is born, there, indeed, arise his seven precious jewels. Wherever a Bodhisattva is born, there, indeed, arise his seven limbs of enlightenment. O Sustainer of the Light, just as wherever there is a source where the precious jewel, vaiḍūrya, arises, there is a source where many hundreds of thousands of kārṣāpaṇas arise. O Sustainer of the Light, likewise, wherever there is a source where a Bodhisattva arises, there is a source where many hundreds of thousands of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas arise. In that regard, it is said: For example, wherever a precious jewel arises, there, indeed, many kārṣāpaṇas arise. Likewise, wherever the perfect Bodhicitta arises, there, indeed, many Śrāvakas will arise. O Sustainer of the Light, just as the enjoyment and purification of the gods who have entered the mixed grove of the Thirty-three are equally established. O Sustainer of the Light, likewise, the pure intention of the Bodhisattva's practice also makes all the actions of all sentient beings equal. In that regard, it is said: For example, the enjoyment of the gods dwelling in the mixed grove,
