If a Bodhisattva understands in this way, he will not transfer to any dharma, nor will he discriminate on the ground. He will not see jumping on the ground, nor will he completely abandon the ground. Because there is no transfer and no destruction, he will not turn away from Bodhi. Why is that? Because all dharmas are pure from the beginning, and the nature of the skandhas, realms, and sources is without transfer and without destruction. Son of the gods, this is the jumping of Bodhisattvas from ground to ground. Son of the gods, for example, if a magician manifests a ten-story house and then causes an illusionary person to enter it, son of the gods, what do you think? Do you think anyone has entered it? The son of the gods said: Manjushri, there is not. Manjushri said: Son of the gods, the jumping of Bodhisattvas to the ten grounds should also be viewed in the same way. Then, the son of the gods, Wise Abode, said this to Manjushri, who had become the youth Manjushri: Manjushri, if someone comes to you for the sake of ordination, what will you say to that ordained person, and how will you ordain him? How will you confer full ordination? How will you join him to the aggregate of precepts? And how will you impart the teachings of the training? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, if someone comes to me for the sake of ordination, I will say to him: Son of good family, if you do not generate the mind of ordination, then I will ordain you. Why is that? Son of the gods, whoever is ordained dwells in the desire realm, the form realm, or the formless realm, or dwells in the five desires. The son of good family who practices the nine abidings is for the sake of directly realizing the Dharma. Son of the gods, what are the nine? Whoever does not abide in anything does not fixate on the mind; whoever does not fixate on the mind does not desire ordination; whoever does not desire ordination does not generate the mind of ordination; whoever does not generate the mind of ordination does not not arise.
