Yes. It is neither being nor non-being. It is not being. It is not even non-being. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, then from what is liberation? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, whatever is grasping at what is not correct, grasping at what is not good, and grasping at what is wrong, one does not make that grasping. One does not completely abandon it. One does not make it a sign, therefore it is called liberation. That is neither shown as being, nor is it shown as non-being. Why is that? If one becomes liberated from being and non-being, then that becomes a fault. Why is that? If one becomes liberated from being, then it becomes permanent. If one becomes liberated from non-being, then it becomes annihilation. The Thus-Gone One does not teach the Dharma because of permanence and annihilation. The Dharma teachings of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are neither because of permanence nor because of annihilation. Son of the gods, whatever is Suchness, that is understood as not being existent by the understanding that it has not arisen before, and that is all. For that, there is neither annihilation nor permanence. Son of the gods, in that way, a Bodhisattva is liberated. When this teaching was spoken, the son of the gods attained forbearance of the Dharma of non-arising. Then the son of the gods, Hricaya, said this to Manjushri, who had become a youth: Manjushri, go to the presence of the Thus-Gone One to see the Thus-Gone One, to pay homage, to serve and respect, to ask and to inquire. Manjushri said: Son of the gods, do not engage in discrimination. I have already taken the Thus-Gone One. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, where does the Thus-Gone One reside? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, he resides in front of me. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, he is not there. Manjushri said: Son of the gods, if you see everything, then you will not see the Thus-Gone One. The son of the gods said: Manjushri, why do you say that you have already taken the Thus-Gone One? He says that he resides in front of me. Manjushri said: Son of the gods, what do you think?

What does it mean to be 'before'? The son of the gods said: It is the realm of space of Manjushri. Manjushri said: Son of the gods, the Tathagata is also like this, it is the realm of space. Why is that? Because all dharmas are equal to space, as space is, so is the Tathagata, so space and the Tathagata are not two, because they cannot be divided into two parts. Son of the gods, therefore, if you want to see the Tathagata, you should understand this principle and not have any discrimination. Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, again manifested thirty-two thousand square, flat-topped, four-pillared, symmetrical, exceedingly beautiful, and pleasing-to-behold mansions. In those mansions, he also manifested precious thrones and cushions adorned with garments born from the wish-fulfilling trees of the gods, and on each throne, he manifested bodhisattvas with bodies possessing the thirty-two marks of a great being. Then, with what kind of blessing did Manjushri, who had become a youth, bless? He blessed with a blessing such as this. This threefold great thousandfold world, all those lotuses that were for use, and those mansions, went to where the Tathagata was, circumambulated the Blessed One and the community of monks three times, and in the space above, they made visible the mandala of the Blessed One's retinue, and they sat encircling from all four directions. Then, those bodhisattvas who were emanations seated on those lotuses, and all those bodhisattvas who were seated in the mansions, praised the Blessed One with harmonious voices in these verses: You have made offerings to as many Buddhas as there are grains of sand in the Ganges, inconceivable, you have sought the conduct of supreme enlightenment, therefore, O supreme among humans, you are so beautiful! The Sage, adorned with marks, the supreme body shining in the three realms, the guide, to whom
